The Foo Fighters is an American rock band, formed in Seattle in 1994. It was founded by Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl as a one-man project following the death of Kurt Cobain and the resulting dissolution of his previous band. The group got its name from the UFOs and various aerial phenomena that were reported by Allied aircraft pilots in World War II, which were known collectively as foo fighters. Prior to the release of Foo Fighters' 1995 debut album Foo Fighters, which featured Grohl as the only official member, Grohl recruited bassist Nate Mendel and drummer William Goldsmith, both formerly of Sunny Day Real Estate, as well as fellow Nirvana touring bandmate Pat Smear as guitarist to complete the lineup. The band began with performances in Portland, Oregon. Goldsmith quit during the recording of the group's second album, The Colour and the Shape (1997) when most of the drum parts were re-recorded by Grohl himself. Smear's departure followed soon afterward.

![[Image: i1KX1qB.png]](https://i.imgur.com/i1KX1qB.png)
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, born on January 27th, 1756, showed prodigious ability from his earliest childhood. Already competent on keyboard and violin, he composed from the age of five and performed before European royalty. At 17, he was engaged as a court musician in Salzburg, but grew restless and travelled in search of a better position, always composing abundantly. While visiting Vienna in 1781, he was dismissed from his Salzburg position. He chose to stay in the capital, where he achieved fame but little financial security. During his final years in Vienna, he composed many of his best-known symphonies, concertos, and operas, and portions of the Requiem, which was largely unfinished at the time of his death. The circumstances of his early death have been much mythologized. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart died on December 5th, 1791.

Richard Wagner
![[Image: dwxpEAe.png]](https://i.imgur.com/dwxpEAe.png)
Wilhelm Richard Wagner, born on May 22nd, 1813, was a German composer, theatre director, polemicist, and conductor who is primarily known for his operas (or, as some of his later works were later known, "music dramas"). Unlike most opera composers, Wagner wrote both the libretto and the music for each of his stage works. Initially establishing his reputation as a composer of works in the romantic vein of Weber and Meyerbeer, Wagner revolutionised opera through his concept of the Gesamtkunstwerk ("total work of art"), by which he sought to synthesise the poetic, visual, musical and dramatic arts, with music subsidiary to drama, and which was announced in a series of essays between 1849 and 1852. Wagner realised these ideas most fully in the first half of the four-opera cycle Der Ring des Nibelungen (The Ring of the Nibelung).
His compositions, particularly those of his later period, are notable for their complex textures, rich harmonies and orchestration, and the elaborate use of leitmotifs—musical phrases associated with individual characters, places, ideas or plot elements. His advances in musical language, such as extreme chromaticism and quickly shifting tonal centres, greatly influenced the development of classical music. His Tristan und Isolde is sometimes described as marking the start of modern music. Wilhelm Richard Wagner died on February 13th, 1883.

Johannes Brahms died on April 3rd, 1897.

Herbie Hancock
![[Image: oz47l9e.png]](https://i.imgur.com/oz47l9e.png)
Herbert Jeffrey "Herbie" Hancock, born on April 12nd, 1940, is an American pianist, keyboardist, bandleader and composer. As part of Miles Davis's Second Great Quintet, Hancock helped to redefine the role of a jazz rhythm section and was one of the primary architects of the "post-bop" sound. He was one of the first jazz musicians to embrace music synthesizers and funk music (characterized by syncopated drum beats). Hancock's music is often melodic and accessible; he has had many songs "cross over" and achieved success among pop audiences. His music embraces elements of funk and soul while adopting freer stylistic elements from jazz. In his jazz improvisation, he possesses a unique creative blend of jazz, blues, and modern classical music, with harmonic stylings much like the styles of Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel.

Please Note, that not all the links will go to that specific person listed FOR OPERA ONLY because, YouTube did not have all the video links to all the songs for some of the artists, so instead I either put in a song by someone else, or put something very similar to that song. Sorry for the inconvenience! I hope you enjoyed reading my mega thread.
Well you skipped A LOT of genres the artists aren't always right. But nice thread anyways.

I assure you, If I put the top 15 most popular genre's, If I would've put more it would've been an extra page and It's simply just not needed.
And are you saying that I got some of the artists/bands rock for some of the genre's in the thread?
Eminem isn't in the top 6 for rap/hip hop?

Again, I couldn't fit everyone in, I only could do 6 artists/bands per genre, If I would've put Eminem in people would be asking where's 50 cent, or Wu-tang.
You can never win my friend.
