There is actually one, pretty mature, and it's ranked as one of the best animes on myanimelist
----> monster https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9aS-EgdAq6U
At all the people suggesting:
Attack on titan, Umineko no Naku Koro, One Piece,Fairy Tail, Bleach, Naruto, Belzebub Slum Dunk Hajime no ippo Dragonball.
I fucking lol'd, those anime target people who are in the stage of their prepuberty.
Edit: You have seen monster already, my mistake.
Alright try hitting up Trigun or Cowboy Bebop
Here is a crossover amv on those 2 animes

Already watched Cowboy Bebop, was pretty good, though I would say it was aimed at late teens as opposed to fully adults, though I still enjoyed it. And I've seen and heard good things about trigun, I really want to watch it but it looks sooo dated.
However it looks good so I may watch it.
Thanks for all the suggestions, people!

What is old is gold, trust upon my words and the proverb. I have to say that Monster looks a bit more outdated than Trigun if comparing these two.( Personal subjective experience ofcource)
Fate/Zero (assuming you've watched Fate / Stay Night) is a pretty good example of the traits you mention. It contains virtually no fanservice, and does not pull typical random comedy scenes into it. It is serious throughout it's entirety, and I feel it is very mature, but couldn't really say it's aimed specifically for adults. I'd look into some trailers and see if you might enjoy it.

I forgot to mention this marvelous piece of anime as well, Psycho Pass is an anime way to go as well if you are interested in futuristic/ visionary animes.

Seen it, loved it.
