Introduction

Greetings. Being on the internet these days is incredibly dangerous, especially if one is striving to become a skilled hacker. At times people will attempt to directly harm you, and being anonymous can partially eliminate, if not completely eliminate the risk of being attacked over the internet.

On behalf of Legion, I would like you to assist you in gaining anonymity and staying safe on the internet in unique ways. Though there are many tutorials out here, including some made by me, this tutorial will truly help you in ways that other tutorials will not.

Now let's begin, shall we?

Browser add-ons

Internet browsers are something we use a ridiculous amount. In fact, you are most likely reading this on an internet browser, though I would hope and assume you would know that. Regardless, add-ons are essentially extensions which allow us to get the ideal experience with internet browsers. I will list some which I use which will help reduce spam, and help me stay anonymous.

(NOTE: Not all extensions will be available for all browsers.)

Zenmate:

This extension is simply a proxy. Though I will explain more about proxies later, a proxy essentially masks your IP, which is important as it can say a lot about your location. That is why Zenmate is so useful.

ADP/ADE:

These two extensions essentially block ads. These can be helpful in blocking ads which do any tracking.

ADP for Chrome: https://adblockplus.org/en/chrome

ADE for FireFox: http://gg.gg/2el8b

Disconnect/DoNotTrackMe

These two plugins block online trackers placed on many modern websites. Though they are very similar, they do have some different features. Try both and decide which you prefer.

DoNotTrackMe: https://abine.com/index.html

HTTPS Everywhere

HTTPS everywhere connects you to websites in HTTPS.
Unfamiliar with "HTTPS"?

Virtual Private Networks and Proxies

Virtual Private Networks and Proxies are both similar and incredibly different. How are they similar? They both mask your IP (Internet Protocal) address, which is an identifier of your computer/internet. How are they different? Virtual Private Networks, better known as VPNs encrypt the data transmitted between you and a server you are connecting/contacting with, while a proxy only masks your IP address.

Though I would personally recommend VPNs as they hide your data far more efficiently, (especially if you're doing anything questionable) though a proxy can hide your IP just fine, in most cases that is.

Free proxy lists:

http://www.proxy4free.com/list/webproxy1.html
http://www.freeproxylists.net/
http://free-proxy-list.net/
https://[censored].com/free-proxy-list/

VPNs I would recommend:

RA4WVPN: https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=3762152

You may be curious why I would recommend so few VPNs, as the number is so few that it doesn't even suit a plural word. Well, that is because this is the only one I have personally used and enjoyed. Though I am sure there are many other great VPNs, I can trust this one especially.

Why? Well, let me share a little guide to buying a good VPN.

1. Check if it keeps logs. You don't want one that does keep logs.

2. Check if the servers are fast. This usually is not too hard as servers speeds are usually provided.

3. Check how many locations there are.

4. Check prices. Are they reasonable?

5. Directly ask the owner if the servers are offshore servers.

If you follow these steps, you will purchase a VPN that keeps no logs, is fast, and keeps you nice and anonymous.

Now you may be wondering why you would need to hide your IP in the first place. Well, to begin with, they show your location, assuming you're not under the shelter of a proxy or VPN. They can also leave you open for DDoS attacks, which are flat out obnoxious.

Preventing a Dox

This is incredibly vital to staying anonymous, as having a dox released is completely destroying your anonymity. Now I didn't crack down on this at first, and it really came back to bite me later on. So please, don't make the same mistakes I did.

Now this whole tutorial is assisting you in preventing a Dox, but what I am about to share with you is what will really help. Though, I must say, a VPN/Proxy will really help as well.

To begin with just hide your IP in any way, shape, or form possible unless you are connected to a public network. That means looking up ways to block Skype resolvers if you have Skype, using proxies when going to unknown websites, etc.

Another general rule is just don't give out any info about any more than the country you live in. That means your province/state, city, postal/ZIP code, or anything else revealing. Just don't put it out in public. The only time when it is acceptable is if you need to enter it if you're purchasing something online from a trusted seller and they require your shipping address.

Also, be careful where you put your email address. Use disposable Email addresses for questionable sites which you don't completely trust.

I would also recommend generating a fake identity and using that for any websites you sign up on. I personally have two which I have been using for years.

Cleaning up after a Dox/Removing threatening information

Say you are like me. You've been doxed, and/or you have details out there which you want to get rid of. I will help you out with that.

To begin with, Google your name. If you see it connected to any of your aliases, remove it. That could mean reporting it, contacting staff, or changing information on social media accounts or WhoIs databases.

Do the same with any other details about you. Your address, IP address, Email, Aliases, etc. Try to remove it all. If you need help doing so, feel free to drop me a PM and I will do my best to advise you on getting it removed.

Also look at Dox guides and try to Dox yourself. If you are vulnerable, try and get everything removed or try to cover it up.

I would also post fake doxes of yourself all over the place.

Now that is about it as far as that goes. Remove, contact, and change is all you can do.

You're very welcome. I hope these techniques help serve you well.
Nice thread OP.
What do you think about nVPN, been using them for couple months, they claim they don't keep logs tho.
Kind of common sense, but oh well... thanks for contributing to HF.

I wouldn't go so far as to call it common sense, but thank you regardless.

I am afraid I have never looked into them, though if you give me a few minutes and a link, I will do so for you.
Very nice tutorial, for everyone in hack world.

Haha, thank you. Glad to help those in "hack world".
This is a great tutorial, though the doxing part is mainly common sense at least for me.
Thank you for contributing!

Thank you, and I'm glad to help. The doxing part was mainly focused towards those who were newer to doxing, but to also at least give a little information to those who are familiar with the concept.

Regardless of where you stand, I hope I helped you out, and again, thanks.
Thanks for this man! Really good way!

No problem :) Glad you liked it so much.
I was reading up on Zenmate and apparently it leaks your IP?

Please send me where you read that. It also won't matter if you are simply using ZenMate to mask your IP when going to a risky site.
Nice Tutorial should be handy for beginners!
