I remember the first time my account was hacked I had not much rep, a lot less posts. people were telling me it is my responsibility for it being hacked... How come when it comes to "trusted" users it is not their fault at all? RIP Roger Rodas. Get it? because people only care about the famous and popular.
My conculsion. Kyle saw what was happening with xadamxk and thought "Ohhhhhmynipples I can skem and say i was hacked because i am trusted people won't be mean to me about it and willl believe me" (Jun 18, 2014 05:00 PM)Vodge Wrote: This shit is getting ridiculous. If a member cannot look after their own account security they should be held accountable for any damages caused when their account is compromised. A precedent has been set and we're going to see this more and more often with people pretending to be hacked and what not to get away with a scamming spree. xadamxk also gave me a negative for his problems so that leads me to believe more he was never hacked otherwise he wouldv'e been nicer about it and probably PM'ed me like a normal person.
I can speak for Kyle's character. He's no scammer. But, he is responsible for his account. That much is obvious. However, if something happens under his account and it isn't him, is really responsible? This is similar to stealing someone's identity and going on a spending spree with their credit cards. Is it the person's identity who was stolen responsible to pay the bills, or the one who stole it? It's the one who stole it. (http://www.idtheftcenter.org/Fact-Sheets/fs-115.html)

Never dealing with unknown people on here. Too many scammers. Staff can check IP logs for accounts (not allowing VPN/Proxies helps this). I'm sure they would post if they thought he was lying about getting hacked. (Jun 18, 2014 05:54 PM)๖ۣۜNyanbot Wrote: Staff can check IP logs for accounts (not allowing VPN/Proxies helps this). Anyone who has a brain can simply get a "private" VPN/proxy - log on to his/her HF account and scam, there is no way to prove whether the original owner of the Hackforums account really did scam. This needs to be rule, fuck christ sake its common sense that the acc owner would be held responsible. COMMON SENSE. You pretty much said that here.
Fuck man, with all these so called 'compromised accounts' people need to stop being such idiots. Honestly though, what's the chances of someone getting infected that participates here, careful with what they download, and have a secure password? Slim to none. I can almost guarantee my account won't become compromised anytime soon. If it were, whatever the compromised scammed, I'd pay out of my own pocket. That'd be 100% my fault for not being careful with such a high valued account. It's your shit and you're the sole reason w someone got scammed. Fix up your shit and pay out of your own pocket. It's not hard to secure your shit.
It's fucking bullshit with everyone getting so called compromised and then some poor member gets scammed and they get absolutely nothing back except "I'm sorry. It wasn't my fault." Fuck that shit. I could go to a family members in Delaware for example, log on, post up a currency exchange, scam someone and say "Shit guys, someone must've hacked me. Sorry. I'm not paying you back, it wasn't my fault." If I ever get compromised, I'll pay whoever got scammed. I don't care what anyone thinks of me, I bet Adam, Kyle, and anyone else who got 'compromised' didn't even get compromised. They simply saw some random person actually got compromised, they told their story, they were believed, and then poof they were free. Now they think they can get away with the exact same shit, except theirs is fake. Anyone can scam you, it doesn't matter how 'trusted' they are. They'll eventually get bored of this site and move on with their life. Regretting their $500 MD donation, and wanting what they can get back for it. Don't trust anyone.

I'm also kidding, not very likely someone would do that. OP, good luck getting your money back. What I said, is IF staff thought he was lying in relation to the logs they'd possible post. I didn't say "IP Logs are always correct herp derp, they never lie". Maybe we understand the word 'if' differently. |
