Hello HackForums, Deployment here.
I'm guessing many of you have heard of Astral's "famous" Twitter Verification Service. And if you haven't, you can check it out here at this closed thread..
https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=4275247
Im not posting this thread to bash on everything that has already happened, so if you are out of the loop or this does not pertain to you then there is no use in reading.
However for those who care to read, lets begin..
The Call
About 10 minutes ago I got off the phone with a highly reputable Paypal employee that I have been waiting a week to speak with. As of a few minutes ago there had not been one report filed against Astral's paypal account, luckily that has been modified.
I simply walked the Paypal representative through the entire process. Told him the truth, started from the beginning and ended 45 days later.. coincidentally.
I will not exhaust you into reading our entire phone call so I am going to jump straight to the points…
The Points
Although I send the payment to Astral as Friends and Family, after my phone call I now have an open case for 10 days against Astral. Now his excuse of "not being able to refund me" no longer can be used, and issuing a refund is now as easy as clicking a button.
On top of this, a report has been added to his Paypal account, to scavenger through recent transactions for the same type of purchase, and to be on the look out for more.
So what's in this for you?
If you were also "scammed" by Astral, give Paypal a call.. and be sure to state nothing other than the truth. A report has already been filed so they should already be informed with most of the information.
Now normally I would not go to the extent to chargeback such a guy, however Astral said for himself: "Please chargeback your payment." Therefore I am only going about what he has asked. He may of said that with the knowing a chargeback was impossible.. but now it is not :)
If you want your money back, give Paypal a call and they will set up a 10 day case for you. If the case wins then we succeed, however if the case fails.. a backup plan has been devised
BackUp Plan
If the 10 day case fails (there is a pretty good chance this may happen). I will move onto plan B, which included calling my bank and reversing the transaction via Credit Card. Being a well known member of the community I can confidently say that Plan B cannot and will not fail.
Once again, what's in this for you?
Well once one $100 Payment is sucked out of Astral's Paypal account, Ill give Paypal one more call with the final deed to reverse all "like" Payments.. stating that just because I went to the fullest extent does not mean others shouldn't receive a refund as well.
And in the end is happiness, and peace, for all.
Hahah hope this solves everything for everyone! Glad I found time to conduct this 3 hour phone call
Deployment here again posting with an update on my dispute process. When I spoke to a Paypal representative they said the only possible way I could lose this dispute is if Astral happened to respond to my claim denying the fact that I should receive a refund. However, after a 10 day period, no response was given and the claim title was handed to me. Shortly after I received an email stating that my $100 has been reversed to my name and would take up to 5 days to be posted. The reason this update to my thread is delayed is because I wanted to confirm that my refund was in fact posted. I can now release information stating that I have received my $100 refund.
What this says for the rest of you is that you can now call Paypal to open a case with Astral for your payment for his Verification Service. For whatever reason, he will not respond to your dispute, and after 10 days the money will be transferred to your account. I still don't quite understand why he did not respond to my dispute.. if he truly does not have access to his Paypal account, I ask that you please don't abuse this, and only open cases regarding your Twitter Verification Payment.
It would be great to see a reply from Astral on this thread; as it is now in the 203 edition of the HF News, and considering that I have PM'ed him the link to this thread just so he is aware of what is going on
Thanks again, and hope everyone else gets their case resolved as successfully as I did,
