Lee sin Jungle Guide [7/26/2014]

★ Introduction ★

Hello HF and welcome to my lee sin jungle guide.
Lee is really fun champion that has a lot of offer with his kit.
I think that I can play lee at 'decent' level (I can do insec kick, flash kick, ward jump very fast..)
Pretty bad win ratio on lee 58.3% but I have played about 800 games with him (about 300 in ranked and 500+ in normal) so I have a lot of experience wih him.

Lee sin is a very versatile champion that can be played in almost every role (lee support OP) but in this guide I will be going over lee sin jungle.

★ Pros/Cons ★

Pros : AMAZING early game, high mobility, good sustain thanks to his W and pretty nice clear speed thanks to his passive.

Cons : Not the best late game, can run of energy very quickly if you don't use passive well, relies on landing Qs,scales down, hard to master.

★ Masteries ★

Spoiler (Click to View)

99% of time I use 21/9 on lee sin and focus on early game.
Personally I like to have 5% CDR on him instead of attack speed because I think that he already has a lot of attack speed from his skills/passive
and with 5% you will be able to use spells more often,
you should also use 6% armor/magic penetration because lee sin deals both magic and physical damage (E = magic damage)

*9/21 is for pu*sies who need that extra 1 healt so that buff doesn't kill them because they don't know how to sustain in jungle*

★ Runes ★

Spoiler (Click to View)

Standard AD runes nothing really special.

9 x AD Marks (I take 1 crit mark because I really like that random crit for more extra damage, use it only if you are lucky in LoL/life)
9 x Armor Seals
9 x Magic Resist glyphs (You can use mr per lvl I just prefer to have more MR in early game, also you can use cdr but then you will have lack of MR)
3 x AD Quints

★ Summoner spells ★

-Flash (Best defensive/agressive spell for Jungle Lee Sin, it has tons of 'mechanics')
-Smite (core for every jungle MUST take when playing jungle)
-Ignite (Uhh..Kinda works if you are willing to use wards and W all the time when you don't have flash, but woudn't recommend at all.

★ Ability Sequence ★

R>Q>E>W
[Image: SWuIYe1.jpg]

Always max Q first (after ult ofc) then you can do W or E
(I usually max E but if you are againts strong champions or if you need that extra shield and cdr on W)

★ Item builds ★

-Normal start : Hunter's machete,4 pots and warding totem

-Early items : Boots,SIGHTSTONE,Spirit of elder lizard and swap warding totem for sweeping lens.

-Damage item (pick one) : Brutalizer, last whisper, trinity force.
(If againts most AP go with hexdrinker)

-Tanky items : Randuins omen, sunfire cape, spirit visage, locked of the iron solari

*It all depends on game/gold/kills/lanes..
Don't build everything I say here,if you are against high AP team don't fucking build randuins omen..COMMON SENSE PEOPLE,COMMON SENSE!*

Wow, I am suprised no one has written here before.
Extremely detailed and good thread!
I have never really liked the jungle, but I might just start after this thread. :D
Need my assistance with something? Feel free to hit me up, and I'll do my best to help you out. :^)

I thought it was cool how I've never read any guides on Lee yet play him the EXACT same way as you do. Nice guide.
You forgot the part of the guide where you discuss how to smartcast.
I beat off to this:

I would say lee sin guides should not exist . You can do so many different builds , masteries , runes , items , abilities with that champ that one static guide is useless !

It isn't static. It even states it in the thread that he doesn't go this build 100% of the time.

It is a good starter for new Lee players.

Yes I know, guide isn't finished because in time I was writing this it was 5 am so I was exausted but I will be sure to include some videos on how to do basic tricks with lee like ward jumps, insec kick and other.

Thanks for feeback everyone 🤝
To be honest, as a lee main, I think when you're going in jungle and you don't plan on invading nor do you think their jungle would ever dare to invade you. I think starting E then W then Q when you get your second buff is better. Reason being is because you'll be able to sustain in jungle a little longer and use less pots then necessary. But it's all down to personal preference whether you want to start Q or E.

Hey,thanks for feeback but I must disagree with you.
You can't really go any other runes/masteries unless you are playing AP lee or if you want to go cdr glyphs but then you woudn't have any MR.

Thanks for feedback 🤝

I agree with you but as you said its all personal preference because I like to have shorter clear speed and I tried starting with Q then W then E and It is true, you can finish both buffs with like 1 potion max 2.

I somewhat question your build. Mainly on the locket. Not really necessary to buy if your support is getting it. It's a unique activation. Only one person's locket will work.

I buy locket when they have most AP champion and when support DOES NOT buy locket, but personally when I need some MR I usually go with banshee's or with spirit visage (because W gives lifesteal/spell wamp)

Pretty decent build, but for jungle lee you definitely need a ravenous hydra.

I was questioning that item quite a bit, because look
to build hydra you need 3300 gold whitch is very expensive because you will delay buying any defensive items until 25min. or something like that, but buying only tiamat is USELESS.

I would only buy hydra if I was WAY AHEAD then enemy team (by like 10 kills or something)
🤝
Thanks for this useful tutorial OP

i love you

What? Who said? You do NOT need a hydra. Bruit is already good.
