Advantages of Using a Hemp Wick over a Butane Lighter

A Hemp wick has a tremendous amount of advantages over butane lighters, and for any avid marijuana smoker it would be the best option to light your bowls. The wick is made from hemp fibers and is normally wrapped around a lighter so that it can be easily lit. Once lit you will begin to see the advantages of using a hemp wick immediately. First off, it gets rid of the risk of breathing in any butane or noxious gases from your lighter when you are lighting your bowl. Secondly, you have more control of the flame and can corner your bowl with a lot more precision. Since hemp is not a gas it does not combust at the high temperatures that butane burns at. This means when you are burning your bud it will be less harsh and you can take more intense hits of your bong or bowl without feeling as much strain on your lungs. If you are still using a lighter to light your bowls, then you have to give the wick a try. You will see an immediate improvement in your smoking experience.

Inhaling large amounts of butane, for example, can cause drowsiness, asphyxiation and even cardiac arrest. While much of the butane is burned off when lighting a butane lighter, some trace amounts are still inhaled. Fire from butane lighters also contains trace amounts of harmful hydrocarbons. Flint lighters, meanwhile, contain metal alloys (called “flint dust”) that get flicked into the flame. These can also be inhaled and can build up over time.

It's unfortunate that you need to pay $1 for this so it technically isn't really free, but it's still a good way to find out if hemp wick is right for you!

I haven't tried that kind, but I got a spool from amazon and my bowls taste like honey :)
Worth it.
