Can you crack the code? [Challenge #6] - CRACKED! :D

Very neat challenge will take a look at this when I have more free time.
(Aug 15, 2014 05:49 PM)bluefirecorp Wrote:  I'm done. I don't really have any more time to work on it. I've put in about 3-4 hours trying to remap the characters and such for code 2:

Here's all the hints:

Congrats on decoding the hint! (Up to you whether you wish to post it publicly or not :D)

Decode the HUGE HINTS for a better understanding of that code, making it that much easier for you to solve it!

Code1:
Don't let the repetitivness fool you, it's all about Positioning and order.

Code2:
Not your simple subsitution cipher, One way to decode this is to analyze all examples, focus on the relationships between the characters, and don't forget to map your results for each of them.

HUGE HINT!:
( G = coincidentally G | O = I | D = S | L = G | U = coincidentally U | C = D | K = M | GO = IP | OD = CH | LU = DQ | CK = XD | GOOD = IICQ | LUCK = DCXV | GOOD LUCK = IICB DCXR | and so on )

Code3:
Similar to Code1, but include 'character count' to what it's all about along with boxes of the alphabet.

HUGE HINT:
( Hopefully you've figured out what the #'s represent from Code1, The letters(A-F) represent which group to be used, the "|"'s represent a shared position, the rest requires your thought. )

I hope these hints don't make it too easy for you nor leave it too hard, but good luck anyways & happy cracking! :D

Congrats man! Also good job on decoding the additional Huge Hints! 🎉

Maybe someone will post something that'll spark an idea for you, leading you to solving one of the codes. Good luck! 👍

Take your time, but now that the hint has been decoded & released publicly... it's only a matter of time. 🤭

For code 2, it seems like the next letter influences the thing. For example: GO = IP, GO = I, OG = P. Honestly, I just can't crack the pattern. Why does GO = I? Also, why does GG = G? I've done everything possible, I think. Watch it be as simple as making a x,y chart with the characters overlapping or something stupid. >.<

Edit:
Fuck you OP. Now that I posted everything, I got another idea. I'm working on it now.

haha you should recheck the hints... but here is the hint for Code #2 in a different perspective:

- Not your simple substitution cipher (implies it being a modified substitution cipher, or in other words a poly-alphabetic substitution... cough possibly a variation of the Vigenère cipher *cough*)
- One way to decode this: (may be solved another way that I'm unaware of)
1. Analyze all examples. (look for patterns)
2. Focus on the relationships between the characters. (I explain this below)
3. Map your results for each of them. (Keep track of what equals what)

coincidentally "G" = "G" (I said that because I didn't want you to think it's a simple substitution cipher, there are other cases where G with another letter makes G equal something else.)

"O" = "I"
"D" = "S"
"L" = "G"
"U" = "U"
"C" = "D"
"K" = "M"
"GO" = "IP"
"OD" = "CH"
"LU" = "DQ"
"CK" = "XD"
"GOOD" = "IICQ"
"LUCK" = "DCXV"
"GOOD LUCK" = "IICB DCXR"

Do this with the rest of the examples and you may find out what other letters/letter combinations equal, leading you to be able to decipher the code. 👍

Seeing how Codes #1 & #3 are pretty similar and #1 is the easiest, I feel as if I should even it up a bit and give this final clue for Code #2. 🤗

Read the previous hints/examples & compare them to this, & you should very much be able to solve it! 🎉

I also managed to decode the hint now.
To decode, reverse the text (only the numbers)
and then Zara 128 decode on crypo.in.ua
The result will be binary.
Convert it to ASCII, and the result will be a BASE64 string.
Then decode the base64 string and you got the final hint.

Hint for decoding HUGE HINT: (last step involves the sum of letters between this sentence and negative sixty three divided by ten)

Code3:
Similar to Code1, but include 'character count' to what it's all about along with boxes of the alphabet.

Hint for decoding HUGE HINT: (Last step involves the sum of letters of this sentence minus fifty seven)

OP, the "last step involves the sum.." was not even needed!
Ceasar shifting one-by-one letter can reaveal the text.
There are 25 shifts needed to check ceasar shift maximum(26 english letters - 1)

Also, look at my rep :) remember me?
pff I crack the hints but can't crack the text.. :(

Ohh crap i just realised I'm not the only one to crack all the hints...

Yea good job... but you should've read the thread a bit more closely as it states that someone has already decoded it, but it's awesome that you cracked it without seeing it until now haha.

Just pay close attention to the posts on this thread, you're able to decode the code with the collected information and a little thinking. 👍

See, I know that.
I figured that out at the very start. You can do a calculation, it's the first letter + letter as a modifier. "GO" = "I" and will ALWAYS equal "I"
I figured "OG" would always = "P".

We look at "GO" = "I" in "GOOD". "OO" = "I" as well. Why does "GO" and "OO" = "I" ? I have no idea. I literally can't figure it out.

The reason I came across this is because "LUCK" = "DCXV". "GOOD" = "IICQ". "GOOD LUCK" = "IICB DCXR". The only thing that changed is the letter after "D" on "GOOD". However, that doesn't make sense because "LUCK" should equal "LUCK" because both of them just end. However, not quite because I believe it loops back to the front.

So, it's really "LUCKL" and "GOOD LUCKG".

However, I couldn't figure out the corrolation between the letters. Idk, maybe I'm overthinking it and it's another sort of pattern that I'm not catching.

I tried using the 2x letters as a map to find the single letter (exactly x,y), but literally can't figure it out. Hopefully, someone else can eventually figure it out. I think I'm barking up the right tree just because the pattern works in every aspect.

I'm not a cryptologist, so I really have no idea if that's actually an encryption method.
How would I go about submitting a code to crack?

There's defiantly a method to this madness haha. 🤭

I've always wanted to learn how to do this Crypto coding? (Question mark because I don't know if that's the name) If anyone knows where I can go to learn how, please PM me!

Hello everyone! :D

It seems that this thread as died down a bit, so I updated the thread for Code#1, just to give a different perspective of it. (Anymore hints for #1 would just give it away lol)

As for cracking the codes, I'd think better progress would be made if someone searched through all posts and gathered together all the hints/helpful info on each code & organized/posted them; this will most likely bring some clarity which might lead you or another towards successfully cracking the codes! :D

Good luck! :]

I tried to understand just one word of what all of you guys said.
