Wonderful work... Now anyone with no knowledge of GDI can build themes... ;)

This is a cool find thanks for posting
I was planning on making something like this a while ago, but support every control type and even custom types. Then I just got busy working on other things, I do plan on working on this again.

Many of us have thought of making this, me included. However, never got round to starting it due to other applications :) It is a very good project to work on though :)
Nice. Another way to do this would be to use the PropertyGrid and expose those properties that you would allow the user to change, and hide the others. All while extending the form or control then adding your own properties.
The PropertyGrid relieves you from adding all those other controls to edit properties like in your case Labels, GroupBoxes, NumericUpDowns, TextBoxes, Buttons, etc.
May I add though that it may not be as user friendly but nonetheless an easier way to handle properties IMO.

I am glad that everyone likes this. As I said, I plan to update this tool to include more controls & to include more properties.
Been looking for something like this, gj!

I wanted to make an app like this as well (so i will just say what i was thinking to implement in mine.) I havn't read all the thread so..
But i think you should permit the user to:
Edit the code not just copy it as ou do not let the user put angles or texture ect.
Have like a diferent type of "saves" save1 : this color, save2 : red theme. like that he can switch
Choose from all controls, he could edit all at the same time or just one in particular. Be nice if the user could see them all at the same time by choice.
Chosse if he want by themebase or without
To put Transparent (display the control behind if needed.), Images (by location, size, opacity, order) , and ect.
To Implement custom codes as a listview sorter in a listview, that way it will evolve all the controls that we use normaly. (Dunno if you understand my ideas, but well here it is.)
And to save all the bunch of control the user made as a theme.

Why have a option to use Aeon's themebase? Having it without is better because then people can learn not to depend on other peoples code. Not to hate on Aeon or anything.

If you want to use straight GDI, by all means, go ahead, but there's nothing wrong with using the themebase.
What you're doing is like saying people shouldn't use the Boost libraries for C++. Hell, not even the Boost libraries, ANY library for ANY language. You need to accept the fact that some people make things so good, that it allows people with less experience to do new things they could never dream of doing, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that at all.
These things make your life easier. If you want a challenge or want it done in a different way, you can do whatever you want, but stop telling people to make their lives harder by making it seem like they're compelled to create everything in their program.

I just never understood how hard it is to create a new class, and override the OnPaint method. What is soo special about the themebase?

Now you're just changing the subject because you know I'm right, lol. I'm not going to derail this thread, so this'll be my last post.

You are right Themebase is amazing it saves time n code but this tool will save your time, code more... here you don't have to code anything... ;) just specify values & you are done... ;) so even if you don't know anything in GDI still you will have chance to create theme n that's not with Themebase ;) there you still have to write some code in gdi ;)
