Hey guys, wanted to start watching SAO but I'm stuck between 2 torrents and I don't know which to download.

The first one has all 25 episodes in 720p quality and the other has all 25 in 480p quality but it also includes a special episode and all OVAs. I would really prefer to watch in 720p but how important are these OVAs and special episode? Worth sacrificing quality over?

Also, what's a good site to download anime from? For many anime series, I cannot find good torrents, as most of them either lack seeders, or have issues with the subbing/censoring.

There aren't really any OVAs (that are worth watching in regards to the story/show), there's a special episode that lasts around 100 minutes iirc which is a recap of Season 1 and 2 more scenes (some bathing mission and one other).

It's not really important at all. Go 720p imo.
http://www.horriblesubs.info has great quality torrents to be a public site. If you want a private tracker use animebytes or bakabt.

SAO is the main show
SAO Offline is the OVAs which the characters have Chibi designs and pretty much recap the show
SAO Exra Edition might be the special episode you are referring to, it is a movie which pretty much recaps the original series and introduces a small amount of new content.

If i were you I would just download the 720p version. I have not watched the movies or OVAs and i dont feel like missed out on anything while watching SAO season 2.

Why do people download instead of streaming them? Streaming is faster, can watch at any time and quality is just as good, 720-1080p

Because
1) I have midterms in a few weeks so I plan to watch after that.
2) I only have 20 GB of bandwith a month, so I can only download/stream at the end of the month as to avoid passing the FUP and my speed going to shit.
3) More convenient to watch a downloaded show as I can watch it anywhere I am and doesnt make a difference if I have stable net or not.

Well, at least the Highschool DxD I've downloaded from there is uncensored, so I suppose everything else is aswell.

Also to answer Forsaken's question, I download anime to play it in 60fps instead.

I just download anime to have a collection, plus I can watch it during long car rides, in hotels, when theres no internet, ect.

I've tried doing the 60 FPS thing, I don't know how I like it tbh. Sometimes it looks weird, but again it can look great.

I usually do it for animes that have fight scenes like Akame & Seirei Tsukai no blade dance atm.
Also yeah also I store some on an external device so I can have it in case of boredom with a laptop etc like you

Insane posted a tutorial on it here, it's using a software called SVP. It adds frames in between the standard 24fps to make it e.g. 60fps. Things look a lot smoother and nicer, although some scenes can look a bit weird.

Mirai Nikki isn't on bakabt and Nyaa is currently down and I'm positive you don't have a animebytes account because you said your unfamiliar with trackers. You can't even use horriblesubs because they use Nyaa to host their shit. Are you familiar with IRC clients? You could always get it that way, but I'm guess you're not.... :/
