9/11 Thoughts? (0.818 thoughts)

What is the communities view on 9/11?

I know it was a terrible moment in U.S. History and allot of people died. I am 16, I wasn't aware at the time that it was going on, I was only 3ish years old. So it doesn't really effect me in a big way. More of a "oh that sucks/is terrible" to put it in simple terms. Do anyone you HF members remember anything from it? (The older HF members)
I know that people make too much of a deal about it. No one even really mourns it anymore, people use it as a marketing excuse.

"RIP the people that died in 9/11, buy a new phone"

"Here's my song about 9/11 buy it and listen to it"

My marketing teacher even said this today, so I'm not just making it up.

Are you my father? XD (Programming) -> (Java Programming) Bahahahaha XD Sorry had to point that out.

That is true, in some aspects. It would impact me more if I had someone I was close to die in 9/11, but other than that nothing. I don't see that as a bad thing, i'm not the type of person to mourn over peoples death that I didn't even know. If I spent time mourning over peoples death, then I would do that every day.
I really don't care anymore. It's not really something to care about.
I was in 5th grade when it happened.
and I shit you not, when the teacher turned on the news.. I was like "ooh cool! a building is on fire!"
and I got yelled at.

but at the time, I had no idea what was really happening... and since I feel like I'm old for HF, I feel like most the kids here don't even remember it happening... they just know what they've been told about it.

when all is said and done, it's just another blemish on the face of humanity... there's no reason to freak out about it every year.
eventually it'll die out as the generations change.... just like how nobody cares what day pearl harbor was bombed on.

True. Yea it becomes a "research" paper in school. Haha
I remember it well. It was the first time I've ever seen every channel showing the same thing on television. From cooking show channels to ESPN, they all were showing the towers. I remember being in school thinking the country was being invaded. My parents came and took me out of school that day. R.I.P. to those people in the planes and buildings.
I remember being scared as hell cause my dad was on a plane flying for a business trip and when they were showing the passengers on the plane I was expecting to see my dad. I was so terrified but luckily my dad didn't show up on the TV.

In present days, it has been 13 years since this has happened. I feel that as a country we should move on. We can't stay in the past. We must move forward. No disrespect to anyone who lost family members or loved ones.

Dang man, sorry. In my Aerospace class we went over air-trafic stuff on 9/11, and they had to get almost all of the planes out of the sky within like 5hr I know it was more than 1000+ planes in the air and they all came down. Some crazy stuff. I believe on plane landed on a runway and couldn't take off from it because of weight and such things. (Just some knowledge on the air side of it hahaha) Don't quote me on the numbers though haha I don't remember half of it XD But it was an amazing act for the air traffic controllers.
Happy 9/11 everyone! I support Bin Laden and the terrorist group.

yeah man, some of my tax dollars go to the CIA every paycheck.
so I guess technically I'm supporting Bin Laden and the terrorist group too.
even though I'd like to not do so... I'll go to prison for tax evasion.

the terrorist group is the Central Intelligence Agency.
they trained their scapegoat Bin Laden, and allowed him to be the figure head for like 11 years or some shit.
before OBL was finally "killed"
