I've been playing around with it, and so far, I'm not impressed.
It seems that they disabled windows snapping (I liked that feature). They still haven't made it possible to disable administrative shares without registry hacks. They still haven't included network management features that were available in 7. The Virtual Desktops feature is kinda barebones; maybe I am overlooking something, but there's no way to configure and manage the virtual desktops. In Linux, you can map specific keys to create custom short cuts to manage virtual desktops, and you can control how the virtual desktop is animated. On the bright side, command prompt is more pimped out. I tested it, and the ctrl v shortcut works in command prompt, FINALLY! It'd also be nice if Microsoft included a way to make a local copy or back-up all of the updates you download and install. I know you can do that with the service packs, wsus and ctupdate ..but still. It'd be nice if they finally included a gui front-end for releasing and renewing dhcp leases. Anybody that has had to walk a client or customer through that crap over the phone knows how annoying it can get. A few things that I still have yet to test. Mounting iso's without 3rd party software. I also want to test burning iso images to dvd and usb. Maybe we finally won't have to use 3rd party software and cli to do it. And I also want to test how stable and fast file transfers are between different hard drives and network shares. Everything on my local network is 1000BaseT, so I'd like to see how fast 10 is compared to 7 and 8.1. I know it's just a preview. And even though I am overall disappointed with this, it's still pretty fun to play with new operating systems and software. Fox, can you add more information to the OP ? I'll post in the other Windows 10 threads to bring their information here, so we have all the information centralized, and not in 10,000 threads.

My era of providing technical support and malware removal on HackForums is over, so you can stop PM'ing me about it. Sorry. I know people are talking about it and taking pictures of their computer but I am going to post actual pictures of the new features (except new search feature as it is giving me issues)

But I tested it, and it doesn't work for me. |
