Tis unfortunate but pairings should ideally be between countries close to eachother or with people within the same country. Shipping anywhere to Canada or USA is essentially the same for me, more or less.

But from Canada to Europe the pricing can be ridiculous for air mail to some countries and if you take it by boat it's 2 months for delivery.

Just saying in case someone gets forced to ship overseas that the recipient doesn't freak out about the present being late.

Pretty sure Black Hole said he tries to do just that, but tbh I'm probably gonna use an international site to buy from, because stuff in Europe is generally very expensive, especially anime related stuff because it's all being imported from the US/Asia. So hopefully I'll be able to ship it in not way too long because it's probably not gonna take any shorter than a month to ship it

It's not exactly the same experience sending someone something directly from a retailer for them to open a commercial box with invoice on it and everything.

The idea is that it's supposed to look like a gift

If I was to get paired next week, get the item shipped to myself and then wrap it in nicely and ship it to the recipent it's gonna take a very long time :/ Although money isn't a problem I have (others might?) it's also gonna be 2x shipping costs probably.
I agree though, it would be much nicer.

Not necessarily, I've been waiting a month for a package from the US some times and on top of that it's gonna be christmas times. It's a gamble so we should just ship it asap and ask for the recipent to wait until the 24th, at least that's what I'll do

Shipping especially during christmas times is awful. So many customers! xD

In a good case scenario order it from a local / national dealer then package it yourself to ship to the recipient

Most websites have a gift option, no? It's been done like this the last 2 SS's, it's easier for everyone.

That's the whole point of a gift option. Depending on the website, they can gift wrap, add a card, any other requests that you have (probably a small fee to go with it). Beat's ordering it to your door (paying for shipping and waiting 2 weeks) and then reshipping it (more fees more wait time). Also removes the invoice and sends it to your email instead.
