PSA: Ohh yeah!! (.NET native, open source, and free)

(Nov 12, 2014 03:17 PM)HeBTeMy Wrote:  Damn, when we talk open-source, are we saying all .net assemblies with all win32/P/Invoke in it?
Dang, that's huge.

Since the win32/p/invoke stuff is already native and not part of the net framework, it's part of windows, no, that is not included.
WOOOOOOW, I didn't see that coming!
Coder looking for partner with good ideas

In case i misunderstood you or you me, i'm talking the .net functions code, which currently it's only available the IL and the .net code itself inside the function/sub, if it calls any WinAPI we cannot see it.

I'm asking if the open-source covers that...

Anyways, has someone already installed Visual Studio Community 2013 ?
The 2015 was just announced and they released another one for free?

I can't test it because it's asking for me to uninstall my Ultimate 2013...

Ohh, not sure, have a look in the code on github and see for your self.
thats was the idea from the begining
microsoft based all the future on the net framework
this topic already been here before just another step
That's amazing news! I'm really glad I decided to start focussing on learning .NET in-depth back in the day, and am laughing my ass off at the people who said .NET has no future.

I and many many others believe .net will be the master race. Now almost being native gives me more hope for this.
Maybe this'll get me interested to move to c#, time to learn the "native" syntax too, lel.

This is not only for c#. This is for vb.net too.

If you want more futures, like being able to add extensions, then yes.

EDIT: Yeah I would replace it with the new free one tbh.
Does this mean that it won't need the net framework anymore and can run on any os?

If so, yessssss 🤗 🤗

No, VB and C# will always use the net-framework. Jus.. nvm..

In the express version you can't. Try downloading xamarin for visual studio and it won't let you install it.
