DATA RECOVERY TOOL (Need to recover Photos & Videos)

So I reformatted my HDD back in August (Windows 8.5) 😖. I had a backup of my iPhone on the computer and forgot to move it over to my external when I reformatted the drive. My iPhone broke 😭, so I want to recover all my videos and photos from my HDD 😑.

I have used EaseUS recovery Tool and Pareto Logic Data Recovery to try to recover the files. The tools have allowed me to find my photo stream, but all the photos are corrupt and cannot be fixed 😵.

I would really appreciate any advice 😉. I heard I would need a forensic data recovery, is it possible for me to do it myself? Or is there another data recovery tool that could possibly help me get these photos and videos back 😧?
to recover those file on your hdd make sure u install EaseUS recovery Tool to another drive or partition..e.g you wanna recover from drive C:\ install it on drive d:\ or any if not the file recovered will be over written and corrupted.
I believe I did that already.

I have two hard drives in my laptop. One is a SSD with the operating system on it and the drive I installed the Recovery Tool on. The HDD drive is in a caddy where my optical drive used to be, the drive has nothing on it and is the drive I want to recover the data from.
Boot the drive up in FTK Imager (its the free version) and take a look at it.
I looked threw the directory using FTK and I was unable to see C:/ or anything 😭
Windows 8.5 doesn't exist.
OP, you have to understand that data recovery is a very sensible subject. There's no guarantee that you will ever be able to recover the files you deleted. You should always be ready to accept that when you delete something. It's too late to think about "I want to recover these files ..." when they are already deleted, you should have tought of it before. If the files/folders you recovered are corrupted, you won't be able to fix them in my opinion. Also, if the standard free data recovery tools like Recuva, GetDataBackNTFS, EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard, etc. doesn't work, well you're out of luck. If you REALLY need these files back, you can always go to a data forensic company like DriveSavers and bring your drive in, then ask them to attempt to recover data from it. However be aware that these services are really, really expansive so except if these pictures were a question of life or death, I would just give up on them. Next time, take secure back up of your stuff before deleting it, it's pretty much the only advice I can give you sadly.

Thank you so much for the info. But, I meant Windows 8.1. Sorry about that.

I thought I had everything backed up, I would explain the story but it would take forever. Lets put it this way, I had horrible luck! What can I say...
I think its all gone. 😟

Thank you all every much though for the help.

You can always use Cloud services to back up your data, use an external storage device (like an external HDD) OR shrink your current partitions to create a new one dedicated to weekly back-up on Windows.

Yeah I have an external storage drive that I use. I'm going to research to see if I can set up RAID on the two hard drives that I have in my laptop. I backup to my external weekly so I think it would be enough to mitigate the risk.
This one always works for me
diskgetor
Portable & old version of diskgetor (legal obviously).
+ Scan it first, may be you may have to use 32bit os or windows 7 to make it work, doesn't show harddisk when I upgraded my os to windows 8.1 64bit.

Is there any official download link for it ? Since Mediafire downloads aren't well seen here.

The reason it might not work on Windows 8.1 64-bits is most likely because the software was last updated 1 year ago and a version for it wasn't released yet (the support).

yup that's the reason, I use the version received from mediafire & it was uplaoded there in 2012, I've tried easeus data recovery as well but it didn't give better recovery result than diskgetor, also diskgetor may corrupt few video files (or they may lag while playing after recovery) but recovered most images & other data including archives & documents which easeus even couldn't find for me

edit:
http://www.diskgetor.com/download-recovery-software.htm
download latest one (unlimited one), it's working fine with windows 8 64bit :)
As mentioned quite a bit before, it seems impossible to get back what you want and you should learn from this for future reference as Aura said.
You could still try Recuva, but I think it'll yield the same results.
