This Is Why You Suck At Social Media And Can't Make Money!

Been doing a whole bunch of reading recently and I've been very invested in social media lately. After reading the quality of some of the threads on these forums and other forums I get a vibe gives me all sorts of bad mixed feelings 🤮

(Warning this is somewhat an abundant spurt of thoughts hitting my mind haha but I am sure you will find value in certain areas)

Let me explain to you why you suck at social media and will never make money

Here is the problem so many people make with social media. People hear "hey I can make money with facebook, or twitter, or pinterest." They get all excited and start doing follow for follow and like for like exchanges to build up a lousy untargeted following then everything they post is some sort of affiliate link!

Have a look at this:

Spoiler (Click to View)

Sure you might get a sale every once and a while with this. OUT OF PURE LUCK.

You see this literally is as if you went up to the top of the empire state building and threw 50 flyers down at people. I think you can see the problem. It's a game of chance, it's luck. and IFFFF you're lucky you can scrap maybe 2 people that check out your link and MAYBEE JUST MAYBE if the stars are aligned and you throw enough flyers you will get a....da dun da daaa SALE.

That's the problem! People say sweet I threw 900 flyers and got a sale if I just keep scaling I can grow. Imagine then throwing 4500 flyers off the empire state building down onto random people. You know what you them come off as? Desperate and a spammer.

A great quote I recently heard is:

Quote:"If you swing too much your opponent will learn to duck"

Imagine you are boxing. If you non stop swing a right hook at someone the entire match the will duck and you will be one pretty shitty boxer 😝

It's simple.. Think about why you like, follow, pin, add etc.. You follow and like and pin things because they are cool and interesting and you like those things.

You can essentially guilt people into buying your products! Think about it in these terms let's use Twitter as an example. Let's say you are this badass on Twitter who tweets funny stuff, posts articles you wrote on how to make money, retweets things to help your followers, and you talk to people (crazy right? actually replying and randomly talking to people on a social networking site!)

Not only will doing this make you gain way more (real, targeted, and interesting people following you) but after a certain point of you just giving and giving and giving. People naturally feel the need to give back! That's just how life works.

Think about it! If someone you followed on Twitter guided you to make your first $1000 online and you now make all your online income due to the guidance of someone. Wouldn't you want to buy pretty much whatever it is they are selling.

Before this turns into 300 page marketing course i'll go ahead and sum this up.

The key is simple

GIVE > GIVE > GIVE > GIVE > GIVE > ASK

Give value, and personality to your audience. They will want what you are asking for (selling/promoting).

Don't

ASK > ASK > ASK > ASK > ASK > ASK > ASK > ASK

Thinking of it in these terms changes the scenario from you throwing flyers off the empire state building to you handing out high quality brochures to a group of friends at your local coffee shop. See the difference? 👍
Pretty cool and informative post. Really changed my opinion on socail media. Thanks a lot for this high quality post man.
Pretty self explanatory. If you try to make money off of nothing, you'll make nothing. You need somewhere to start and it takes money to make money most of the time.

It would actually be a good idea. Because you would get on the news > Then people would actually wonder what the flyer was > They would ask those who got the flyer > Then you've created a mass discussion about you > Someone posts your flyer image on social media > Profit $$$

But if your offer is poor and advertised to untargeted people it's almost useless. Imagine if after all that buzz discussed above you were promoting something shity like a paid credit report because the payout is good. Yea it's good because nobody is ever going to get a conversion 🤣

But on the other hand if you build a gym pinterest page for example geared towards women (which pinterest mostly is anyway). You now have a targeted audience so if you promote a supplement for women your conversion rate will be much better. Assuming you apply give give give give give ask.

That and you'd probably get arrested.
Throwing things off buildings is a felony, isn't it?
