[Specialists] Stock Mega Thread |Under Construction| Feel Free To Post

Your dedication to the stock market is very nice. I just read some of this and I am confused as hell. You buy stocks and later sell when the rate rises? So you can actually guess?

No idea if these are some valid questions inside the stock market as I am very unexperienced and have no clue. Just trying to learn something from the stock market.

Yes you buy low and then sell high to make a profit.. And yes you can actually guess the market, although it is not 100%

You should take a look at http://www.investopedia.com/

And I can wait as long as I want? Example I invest 500,000$ and the market goes deep down for a very long time, am I able to wait for how long I want even though it's probably not recommendable?

Yeah
You can hold for as long as you want, it's your money.

Thank you for this nice thread! Next week I finally have some time do to some research into the stock market, this will be a nice point to start :)

Edit: Wauw, congrats on your earnings so far! You're a real inspiration already for those who want to start!
I know you're not a tax master but how does someone (never done taxes before) go about capital gains and losses for stocks and what do I need to do to fulfill my taxes?

15% capital gain which you can offset with losses.

^That might help you more than me trying to explain.

As a normal home trader, will capital gains and losses be the only thing I must report when playing with stocks? Or are there other taxes that come along with selling stocks.

Capital gains will be the only thing you need to report in terms of taxes, It's important to keep proper book records of all your buys/sells though as the IRS can be a bit of a pain sometimes.

I have a question regarding a company that seems to have two stocks. There is this drug manufacturer called Advaxis that I think would be a good short term investment, but they seem to list under ADXS and ADXSW. Both are different prices, what is the difference between the two?

Quick google search about ADVAXIS led me to this:
http://ir.advaxis.com/press-releases/det...d-warrants

Basically, ADXS is their common stock, ADXSW are warrants which are excercisable immediately and expire 5 years from issuance.
You'll obviously want to invest in ADXS as opposed to ADXSW

Some other companies will have multiple tickers for other reasons such as GOOGLE which has "GOOGL" "GOOG" due to their stock split and the formation of different classes. (One having voting privilege, the other not.)

Ah I understand now. Thanks for clearing that up.
Have you cleared up your robinhood account issue? And if so, how has it been working?
