There are various compartments to your header, as not everything is coded together.

Navigate to the following;
ACP --> Templates & Styles --> Templates --> Your Theme Template
Now scroll down and look for "header".
Feel free to provide me with a URL if you need anymore help.
Ok i made a logo , its a png and is sitting on my desk top.
i renamed it newlogo.png.

i went to ACP --> Templates & Styles --> Templates --> Your Theme Template >> header

expand it and the code is

Spoiler (Click to View)

i went to my FTP and went to upload/images and have that open,

do i upload my newlogo.png to that folder 1st ?
and then what do i change in the code to make new logo appear ?

Please use the code tags.
Aha, a logo change!
This wouldn't be in your templates.

/images would definitely be the right place to upload this. Navigate to the following;
ACP --> Templates & Styles --> Themes --> Your Theme.

Once there, scroll down and you'll see a field labelled "Board logo". I believe that is what you're looking for. Just upload the new logo to the images file, and the new text in the input should be
Code
images/newlogo.png
Let me know if you need anything else.
excellent, that worked super good,.

if i was to add my own icons to each forum {do away with standard icons}
i get the icons i want, re-size them.

do i upload them to same image folder in FTP?
and then how do i get them to appear on the forum instead of standard icon,

Firstly, please do not follow any tutorials you find on the internet. Majority of these are for 1.6, so I don't want you getting confused.

Navigate to the following in the ACP
Templates & Styles --> Templates

The first thing you'll want to do is expand the template;
Forum Bit Templates.

Under Forum Bit Templates, open the template forumbit_depth2_forum.

Find
Code
<td class="{$bgcolor}" align="center" valign="top" width="1"><span class="forum_status forum_{$lightbulb['folder']} ajax_mark_read" title="{$lightbulb['altonoff']}" id="mark_read_{$forum['fid']}"></span></td>
And replace this with
Code
<td class="{$bgcolor}" align="center" valign="top" width="1"><img src="images/forumicons/{$forum['fid']}.png" alt="" title="" class="" id="" /></td>

Once you've done that, Save and Return to Listing

Now, in your file directory, head over to your /images/ folder, and create a folder called forumicons.
This is where you will place all your forum icons.

Heed my warning; the name of your forum icons will have to be the forum ID for the icon to display. For example, the first Forum ID (FID for short), would be 1. The name of my icon would be 1.png and I would then proceed to upload my icon to the "forumicons" directory

To re-size them and make them all the same size, you can use the width and height tags. To do this, head back over to the template
forumbit_depth2_forum
And find
Code
<td class="{$bgcolor}" align="center" valign="top" width="1"><img src="images/forumicons/{$forum['fid']}.png" alt="" title="" class="" id="" /></td>
Replace this with
Code
<td class="{$bgcolor}" align="center" valign="top" width="1"><img src="images/forumicons/{$forum['fid']}.png" alt="" title="" class="" id="" width="WIDTH_YOU_WANT_HERE" height="HEIGHT_YOU_WANT_HERE" /></td>
OK I'm back doing a little more on this, :)

what Ive done now is the following

I went to forumbit_depth2_forum. and found the code you posted above { didn't change it to new code yet }
I have it open and ready to change in another tab to the new code you posted above,

I then made a folder on my desk top and called the folder forumicons
i then locate some of the icons i want to use and resized them to 48 x 48
and put them into that folder,
i have not found all the icons i want to use, {il find the rest as i go along }

i opened the ftp and uploaded that folder to the images folder, that's as far as i went,

my question now is , how do i find the proper forum id { i will then re-name the new icons to same as forum id when i find out what they are} and where do i enter the code for them to show.

i hope that makes sense above.

FID's can be found when clicking on the forum link. It displays in the URL.
View Screenshot (Click to View)
Simply click on the forum from the index and look in the URL.

Code? I'm not sure what you mean here. Rename the icon fid.png. So for example, in the screenshot the FID was 2, I would rename my icon 2.png and put it in the folder.

I hope that answered your question.

Post your code in the code tags in your response. Also, feel free to pm me a test account with administrator access and I will do this for you.
Ohh, I completely missed the part that the uploads folder was in the mybb.zip... I did that, but when I got to my domain, I still don't see the error it says I should get. I just get: Spoiler (Click to View)
