Skillset: Web Hacking [7/10]: I got a lot more to learn, but I really love learning. At the moment I know:
SQL Injection - String/Union/Polygon
Cross Site Scripting
Local File Inclusion
Remote File Inclusion
Learning: Bitshifting (really interesting)
Programming [6/10]: I really love programming. Even though I am not the best at it, my favorite thing is to learn more.
And in this group I am sure I will. I, atm, know:
Python (7/10)
C# (7/10)
C++ (5/10)
Learning: Focusing on C++, want it to be my main language.

What makes you stand out better than others to make yourself more qualified to be a part of this sector?: Pretty much nothing. However, my ambition could be one. I love learning new things, and if I am after something, I won't leave it until I achieve what I want.

Any certifications?: Don't have any certifications, am 17, at college.

Proof of work or knowledge: Eh well, I actually can't think of any proof at the moment.

Anyway, hopefully I can be a part of this awesome group. Would be awesome to learn more!

List your skillset:
I've been involved with Pentesting and Cybersecurity for the past few years, initially it started out with a general interest in computing sciences then branched out. I've have a general understanding of a range of concepts related to hacking, developed further through experience, skills include:
  • Network pentesting: So first and foremost enumeration, but also ARP poisoning, DNS cache poisoning, DCHP spoofing, SSL strip, WIFI attacks & familiarity with tools such as the Metasploit Framework, Ettercap and so on.

  • WebApp pentesting: Enumeration and vulnerability assessment with applications such as Nmap, Vega, Webshag. Knowledge in SQLi, understanding of XSS, hijacking web session cookies.

  • Other concepts including buffer overflows, shellcode, basics of cryptography. Familiarity with hashes, password cracking w/ dictionaries and rainbow tables.

  • Experience with OWASP & OSSTM methodologies.

  • Knowledge with fields that I personally find extremely relevant and helpful to understanding include knowledge in computer systems, computer memory, networking protocols (TCP/IP & UDP) and the OSI model, programming in C/C++ and familiarity with SQL & PHP syntax.

What makes you stand out better than others to make yourself more qualified to be a part of this sector?:
I have passion towards computer systems and hacking. Unlike many on HF I am not money driven, looking for easy jackpots - I like to think I hold the true 'hacker' ethos as described by Jon Erikson (author of books including Hacking: The Art of Exploitation):

Quote:The essence of hacking is finding unintended or overlooked uses for the
laws and properties of a given situation and then applying them in new and
inventive ways to solve a problem—whatever it may be.

As a result of this passion I go beyond the normal tutorials and look to be creative, I'm not afraid to get stuck into books where need be and I'm always on board to not only help others but further my learning. I also have experience doing Pentests for small start-up businesses and websites - and the necessity of enumeration and reconnaissances when performing an attack is often forgotten nowadays, as well as post-exploitation.

Any certifications?:
I don't hold any official certifications, but then again neither do some influential hackers; Anch who spoke on Traffic at DEFCON 22 comes to mind.

Proof of work or knowledge:
I've done a few tutorials on HF and helped around the beginner section - but I think it is widely known that purely knowledge based 'TUT's don't get much attention on HF, but hopefully that would change in this group's board. I've read a lot of books on the topic, and continue to read more so I don't mind sharing those if required. Some of my tutorials include:

[TUT] Diftnet MitM Attack To Capture Live Image Traffic [TUT]
[TUT] WinRAR Extension Spoof [TUT]
[TUT] Beginner's Guide to Vulnerability Scanning with Vega

It's not because a Leader is White Hat that I should be "racist" towards people with other interests 😝

Good luck to everyone who applies, knowing Zayne, I know that every applications will be closely reviewed and only the most skilled users will get in.
Fiat justitia ruat cælum

My era of providing technical support and malware removal on HackForums is over, so you can stop PM'ing me about it. Sorry.
We need more applicants. Looking for about 6 more members.
