Hello everyone,
Before I start writing hundreds of Blog posts and creating educational, informative "how to" videos and uploading them to Youtube, I want to run my idea past the HackForum Webmasters community.
Do you think it's a good idea if I was to create a blog which you can subscribe to for £5.00 a one-off fee - for example and access a complete guide on how to create a website.
I will include everything: from domain name management, hosting services, website design, development stages, marketing and maintenance.
Kind Regards,
- Dan (The Old Knight).
I think it's a bad idea, because there are already so many tutorials on the internet ( + most of them are free).

Hi redpenguin,
How informative are they? I understand that there are forums out there to ask questions but one of the services available to anyone that subscribes would be support, i.e. Q&A sessions.

Let's pretend you're a stranger on your site, why would you subscribe?
If I need support I'll go to stackoverflow, because it's free and fast.
And for tutorials there are plenty sites like http://tutsplus.com/
You'll need really unique and awesome content if you want a subscribe based website.

Thank you for providing the above criticism, it's much appreciated!
I would suggest providing it for free, and making money by ads and affiliate marketing.
If you have a big name in the industry (and i mean big, like everyone knows you) then you can do it. for example railscasts.

I don't have a name for myself on the internet, but I do have a good name for myself as a local website developer. I have a Microsoft Certified Professional certification (which I received at the age of 17). I have also worked on large UK Jewellery websites when I was in the industry.

This is a very good idea. I didn't think of this.
Thank you.
If you're going to do this I would also suggest making it for free - and then marketing/scaling it as an authority site. Once you have a following, you can make a killing selling specific products to your audience.

Hello everyone,
I would like to thank all of you for providing me with such great criticism.
I have decided to create a Blog which will provide information on how to create a website and provide information on maintenance, marketing and knowledge on key areas such as: Domain Names and Hosting.
I am also working on a Question and Answer system, which will allow the public to ask me questions regarding their website.
Kind Regards,
- Dan (The Old Knight).
