...for the Step-Up program so that I could get a free upgrade to a GTX 970! The only money I had to spend was on shipping.
The bummer is that my Step-Up just got processed, so by the time my GTX 770 arrives at their headquarters, they'll be closed for the holidays, so UPS is gonna hold it and attempt to ship it to EVGA after January 5.
It's going to be a while until I get my GTX 970 :/ Stuck with my GTX 650 for the time being.
Thanks to whoever it was that posted about the EVGA Step-Up program a while back. If it weren't for you, I would've never known and would've been using the GTX 770 probably for the next 2-3 years.
I feel bad for ya man lol, worst timing, but hey, it's worth it.
Learning patience is key for gaming, xD Nice job qualifying for an upgrade.
Waiting a month for $150+ value is worth it even though it kind of stinks to wait.

Don't you have to pay something to upgrade to a better model? Or is it free because it's still x70?

The way EVGA's Step-Up program work is you can upgrade to a newer model and you pay the difference.
So let's say I bought a GTX 770 Superclocked ACX for $330 and I wanted to upgrade to the GTX 970 FTW ACX 2.0. The GTX 970 FTW ACX 2.0 is currently going for $379.99 on the EVGA website. I would have to pay $50 for that upgrade (not including shipping).
My GTX 770 Dual Superclocked ACX was $329.99 when I bought it, so if I wanted a free upgrade, I'd have to choose a model of the GTX 970 that's going for $329.99, which, at the moment, is the standard ACX 2.0 model.
And this is one of the reasons why I simply love EVGA.
This, the 3 year warranty and the loyal costumer discounts together with the outstanding quality.

After a long wait, ny GTX 770 is now coming back home as a GTX 970! I paid $35 for next day shipping, so it should be here tomorrow afternoon.
I also bought some extra accessories for my GTX 970. I bought a NZXT Kraken G10 GPU cooling bracket, Corsair H50 AIO liquid cooler, and a Corsair SP120 red LED fan to replace the stock H50 fan. Also bought a new Seasonic M12II-620 EVO Edition, fully-modular power supply to replace the EVGA 600B in my build that everyone seems to hate. I've had that 600B for almost a year now and it's been running perfectly fine for me. Would've kept on using it if it were fully-modular.

![[Image: b2ca45bc5c.png]](https://puu.sh/eaU4l/b2ca45bc5c.png) That's a nice haul, but I'm curious to know why you actually bought the GPU cooling block? The 970 would likely only hit ~75c even in a warm room under full load which is perfectly acceptable. They're pretty reliable cards like that. Although, I guess if you did get much higher than that, the card would throttle its performance slightly. Neat either way ;)

It will keep the GPU even cooler, probably maxing at 45-50°C under load. Also allows for plenty of room to overclock. Considering that the GTX 970 model I'm receiving is the lowest clocked card in the EVGA ACX 2.0 line, I'm definitely going to get into some GPU overclocking.
Just a little worried about VRM cooling. I heard that the G10's VRM cooling isn't the greatest.

Never had that in my life, good to be you OP!
My God OP, why haven't I heard of this in my life!!
I have a EVGA GTX 770 RIGHT NOW, collecting dust, AND haven't been touched in about 6 months.. will I still be able to do this? I may as well get an upgrade. :)
I live in CA, so how long do you think it will take to arrive? Also how long will this "Step-Up" Program last for?

You do not qualify. If they accepted every GTX 770 that has been purchased, they would be losing money. This is only good for components bought within 90 days.

Well, here I am with my GTX 770, unable to take part in the program, fml
