Hmmmmm. I see where you're coming from. Doing this with asp.net would be much better since they can login online and whatnot. I'd love to learn the asp.net skills needed to do this, but I doubt asp.net is identical to vb.net in terms of the libraries

No... they are. ASP.NET simply provides a backend system to create web applications. It still uses Visual Basic (or C#, I use C#) to do it. It's literally just a structured system used to create it. Much like how Windows Forms are used by Visual Basic to create a GUI, ASP.NET is used to make dynamic web apps.
Thank you so much +Haze ! i've been looking for a tutorial like this

Threads can be viewed without logging its call Archived Thread Cache phpbb still does it even tho you say no
Anyways.
Did this few weeks ago was async socket based with stream read/write found php to be slow and heavy on the server. Also vulnerable to msql attacks for sessions. However it does make it way easier to manage and create seperate conferences however in socket based using a hashtable to set and users broadcast to each if user x and user y has requested to join a room they are added to arraylist that data is sent to each user simultaneous .. eh took a few pepsi drinks for me to think of a effiencient way of doing it will post snippet if anyone needs?

That would be lovely actually. I always wanted to know how to do this with sockets. And sure post the snippet, but bare in mind this won't be of much use if it doesn't allow for chatting globally.
Jesus, looking back at this retrospectively, I think I could of improved so much. Oh wells.
