Help Installing Mint Cinnamon... error when installing on VM

Hello HF,
I've been trying to install Cinnamon mint linux for the past couple of days. It would start going through installation, but then it would keep on getting
[Errno 5] Input/output error
"This is often due to a faulty CD/DVD disk or drive, or a faulty hard disk. It may help to clean the CD/DVD, to burn the CD/DVD at a lower speed, to clean the CD/DVD drive lens (cleaning kits are often available from electronics suppliers), to check whether the hard disk is old and in need of replacement, or to move the system to a cooler environment."

Could anyone please tell me how did you install it on the VM? I'm wondering what options did you select in order to get it installed as Mint is not listed as one of the options.
I've tried installing as Ubuntu 64 bit (unlikely ubuntu would work as its Debian based) and Debian 64 bit and Other Linux Kernel 3.x 64 bit. Tried it on VMWare Player and Fusion.
I am running it off iso image so I did not burn the image. The MD5 matches, I re-downloaded the image multiple times still having issues. There isn't any problem with the disk image.

Thanks,

Thanks,

I don't have any experience with those two, but I suggest trying Oracle VM Virtual Box. Once you try that update if it worked or not.

I am running on Mac. I can try virtual box. I think my buddy tried VirtualVox on windows but same error. I'll give it a try. I'd love to run it on Fusion it's much more stable. Thanks buddy!
