I'm unable to connect to his pool, and I am 100% sure that my settings are correct, because I use the same settings for an LTC pool which works fine. I am using CGminer if that helps.

Is it still worth mining Omnicoin with gpu? I mean, i'm not looking into a huge profit. The currency is still farely new, so the dificulty to mine a block is still kinda low compared to other currencies, right?

It's kinda low compared to others yeah, but you won't make a lot by mining any currency, unless that currency has a really.... really low difficulty. I mined over 1 million DogeCoin in about three days with my 660 Ti and a GTS 450, but that was just when it came out. Now I doubt I can even mine 100 DogeCoin with that old setup.

Thats the thing. I dont know how "worth" is going to be mining omnicoins at the moment...

Btw, aren't dogecoins like real cheap right now?

hey when ever i try to open run.bat it says that my computer cannot run this type of file. How do I fix it??

Trying to mine with an Intel Core i5-2500K on Windows 8 but get this error when I run the batch file.

CGMiner is not for CPU mining. Get CPUMiner if you want to do so.

a 660 gives you 120 kh/s and a i5 gives you 30 kh/s according to this site. Then according to this site youll get like 2ish omc per day, which is next to nothing(less than it will cost you to run the computer
