I've now completed and implemented a new plugin that will check a members Prestige points in order to post in the SRPP.

The current Prestige requirement is 25 unless you are upgraded which gives the immediate ability for L33t and Ub3r to post in SRPP. The requirement of 25 might be adjusted based on the level of success we see going forward.

I cleaned up some of the Prestige function so that I may be easier to implement across the site. I truly hope to add Prestige requirements to other areas and features of HF.

Not everyone upgrades and this allows me to give certain account parameters a value, which I call Prestige. Prestige is calculated based on a secret formula that mixes things like your post count, reputation, amount online, and account age.

I'd like to see Prestige being used in the Marketplace. Possibly require Prestige over positive reps. I have to think about it.

Personally I can see some users spamming and getting their post count up as fast as they can to earn some of those prestige levels but complaining if its too high for them. Whatever floats your boat should just work.

Why not both? Perhaps make the positive rep requirement to just not negative and add in the prestige on top of that.

They would get banned for LQP long before they reached 25 Prestige. It is not easy to accomplish for a regular member especially if they just registered.

Posts is not the only thing that can boost your prestige, there are other factors if you read the OP, Omni stated it.
