Redact | Screenshot Censoring | Bitmap Distortion, Form Transparency

For a while now I've been looking to release something but any time I go and look it up, there's always a thread. So I finally found something unique and wrote it up today.

Redact is a program that allows you to screenshot and censor (redact) portions in real time- visually, at least. This is achieved by capturing the screen within the region of the PictureBox when a mask is selected. The image will be wiped when the form is moved or resized returning the PictureBox to its transparent state. Seamless, right? Kinda. Credits to ScreentoGif for the idea.

Known issues:
-Screen flickering which for some reason only flickers in the regions I extend, not the starting size and lower. Since WinForms controls aren't actually intended to be transparent, my implementation is as good as it gets without overriding OnPaint or custom controls. However, feel free to contribute to this if you like.

u could do it with pure gdi instead of the form 😊 the pixal region is cool idea
check https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=4727412 just draw the buttons and add click event

Hey there's an idea. I've never really taken the time to actually use GDI, may give it a go.
That's a pretty sick idea love it! +1
Meh, it's OK I guess. I never really liked these kind of screenshot selectors, but the pixelate idea is pretty unique, that is important. Great job.
Odus showed this earlier on Skype. It's a nice concept.

Nice work man, but I think a lot more people would use it if it was more like Puush, where you press a hotkey & you can select an area, then the form shows up so you can make changes to the image (pixelate/censoring).
This actually looks really cool.

Nice Job Odus.
too many "crypto enthusiast" here
too many "uneducated swines" here
subtle difference? i dont think so.
Well, you could work a bit in the screenshot form...
I will look into the source, thanks Odus, and only3, my dear love.
Nice concept,really like pixelate/block feature. 🤝

Granted, the screenshotter has been done over and over here especially with the region capture but I think this is an interesting twist. That's why I went with the 'hole' concept just like ScreenToGif. Thank you though! It's something different I guess.

What do you suggest be changed? And yeah, here's to Only3.

Edit- Who 1 starred my thread?!

I will make some changes to the interface and add some features.
Will update you in this thread.
I like the concept. I'd be using this when I get the time
I tested it out, however there was one thing I didn't like. When I upload a screen shot, it includes the lower bar with the pixelate/blackout buttons included instead of just the reason I selected.
its cuz the width and hight are of the form
