Completely lost motivation to play games but I still have the WANT to play. IT SUCKS.

(PC) Lately I just haven't been getting any fun out of games. I've tried dragon age origins, witcher 2, dead space 2, bioshock 1, need for speed undercover... I started to hate them with such small progress into the game. Minutes. What is wrong with me? I loved games back in the day, played them everyday. I still feel the urge to play game though, even though I just can't get into them. I am still very interested in checking out the gaming news and all that stuff but when it comes to actually playing through a game I am just that bored so quickly into the game I get out of it straight away.

It saddens me because I have nothing else to do in my spare time. Any gamer ever been through this before? Is there a fix?.. When I thought I had completely grown out of gaming (I'm only 16 by the way) I tried out BioShock Infinite. I didn't like the beginning but I went with it and ended up loving it. Unfortunately this did not "re-spark" my love for gaming.

:(
gday mate how are ya
Everyone eventually grows out of games.

Move on to your next passion, find something else you like. This is your brain's way of telling you it was a good run, but it's time to find something new.

You can always come back to them, but don't force yourself to enjoy something.

You picture makes me want to dedicate my life to minecraft but I tried that a few hours ago. No fun. I'd like to find new hobbies but I can't really, the reason is anxiety.

The last time I grew tired of playing games, I looked into making games. So now I am trying to become a better 3D artist.
Anyway I found my passion for games again, but still want to become better at 3D sculpting and eventually make a small game myself. Knowing the work process behind a game makes you appreciate them in a different way.

Anyway there are tons of games you could look into. Maybe you just grew tired of specific genres, so exploring new genres and game styles may be good.
Or just take a break from gaming in general.
Been playing video games since age 5 and 14 years later I haven't got tired of them. You must have grown out of it and like to do more "grown up " things like golf or drinking beer and watching low budget tv.

Lol what.

OP it's all about finding a game that clicks well with you, try all the mainstream shit out and see if there is something you really enjoy dedicating your time on (lol, dota, wow, rs or counter strike and so on).

Or maybe gaming just isn't your thing anymore (or at the moment), try out other stuff.

Just take a break from gaming. Everyone goes through patches where they get bored instantly.

I feel your pain op have had this for a number of years. Ever since I could get pretty much any game for free I grew bored of individual games quick style.
Get CS:GO that is some more hunderd hours of gameplay
Coding is fun. I don't game either, but I make cheats for games, it's really hard and challenging, but the feel when it works, oh man.

Can recommend

Regards.
OP do you work? Do you get stressed with school?
Check out NerdCubed on YouTube. He's a PC gamer and he really knows his shit. Personally, I find him belly-aching hilarious because I think he has a really clever sense of humour, though you might not find him funny(everybody has their tastes). The point is, he's lengthened my personal gamer's shopping list by about a metre(and that's just if the font on it was set to 12!), so you'll probably find some games that you like there. He also has some really smart, thought out opinions about all of the shit going on with Steam and Valve if you check out his vlogging channel and podcasts (both of which, are also really funny). Anyways, I hope you find him useful. Here's the link to his channel:

Some personal recommendations are The Binding of Isaac, Cities: Skyline, FarCry 3(oh, wait, didn't see the profile pic), Gary's Mod, GTA V(they finally have it on PC! Mods!), Prison Architect(I've been saving up for this one), Red Faction: Guerilla(highly recommend this one. I haven't played it yet, but I watched NerdCubed's entire series on it and it was amazing. It was a really funny series too. The best part of the game is that you can break ANYTHING. Literally. And no, it's not another MineCraft ripoff), and Besieged(another truly great game. You have to think to solve the levels, and it all depends on how creative you are. They've added a whole bunch of new features that really add to the game, so you know the updates are worth it.). Anyways, I can't really think of any more off the top of my head, even though I know there's tonnes I've missed. Hope you found any of my suggestions helpful. (PS: As a newcomer to NerdCubed's channel, try watching some of his edited videos rather than the really long ones. That's what originally got me into his channel. He made a video called Sonic '06 a little while ago that was really funny. Though, if it's game reviews that you want, then check out his FW series.)

That sucks pretty hard man, I can relate a bit. I hit that same type of wall, and now for some reason I don't feel like playing video games by myself. For whatever reason it just isn't fun to me, but as soon as a friend gets on and we mess around it instantly becomes fun as fuck again. Try indie games too, you might just be getting bored of cliche/utterly predictable storylines.

Lol.
Just find friends to play with. I suggest you GTA 5 and CS:GO. Especially when you play with friends and mods. :) You can have hella fun on these games!
Lol same here, video games arent that fun anymore lol but its a good thing tho since I used to play 24/7 LMAO xD
