So, the story is that I was using Tor with Firefox to bypass some check that identifies me as having placed too many purchases on a certain site within a certain time period. Everything worked for a while, and then all of a sudden I can no longer make purchases on this site (I am paying with Bitcoin, but I am blocked out before it even gets to the Bitcoin payment page).
Here is what I do:
Reload Tor Browser to get a new IP (I have verified this works)
Clear all browsing history
Use a different e-mail address
And somehow this website still knows who I am. How is this possible?
Disable all scripts.
Use private browsing?
Maybe you've been extremely unlucky and gotten an ip(or multiple) that has adjust been used by other people on the tor network.
1. The web site using javacript which will detect the real IP behind TOR
2. The web site block all TOR IPs

How can you detect the real IP behind TOR via javascript alone? thats news to me...
it can be done via actionscript within flash but ive never heard of it being done via JS

Doing payments of any sort over the tor network ?... properly not the best idea.
EDIT
*as ret20 put it This is terrible advice. Honestly, this is quite possibly the worst advice you could give him. Fuck tails ;)
So you should properly not install tails, but you might still want to go and fire up a virtual machine and use tor via that, so you have seperated your stuff in that sense.
There is a ton of people out there saying tails is NSA bait, backdored via microcode and what not, so its properly not worth the chance?
[old post]
Why not have a virtual machine running tails, then you have fully seperated all your shit from whatever you are doing on your machine and the vm. its not the perfect solution, but its a great start.

Hey ret20 -.. would you care to elaborate on why this is terrible advice ? I Personally dont agree with the whole deal about using the tor network for doing payment stuff etc.. but you have to be somewhat more informative about your issue with my suggestion. 🙂

I'm referring to you suggesting that he uses a backdoored linux distro. Besides he said the payments were via BTC :) cryptocurrencies and TOR go hand in hand.

Are you talking about the microcode injection topic?. I agree with you that the issue with using a distro where the topic of it being "backdoored" can be a mother fucking issue and he should properly go download a openbsd iso and fire up tor via that... do all the ip tables stuf and make sure that there are no dns leaks.
I followed up on your statement and found this link, is this what you are refering to?
newworldorderg20.wordpress.com/2015/01/03/nsa-claims-tor-is-a-secure-way-to-guard-your-privacy-yet-tor-is-in-bed-with-u-s-government/
I will change my comment regarding tails, and try to give more general advice.
*Interesting link i found while updating myself on the whole tails situation youtube.com/watch?v=sNYsfUNegEA

yes im referring to the microcode injection.. i think he's better sticking with one of the mainstream distros, or if he's looking for something similar to tails then liberte linux is probably a good choice - its all open-source rather than having closed-src parts such as tails.
you could disable javascript so it doesn't track your real IP, Tor use "noscript" plugin to disable javascript. But by default "noscript" is disabled, also try to go to "about:config" page and disable javascript from there too. Hope it helped you out :D

Man, you really are quite the fucking moron. That rumor was spread by people who work for the government and neckbeard conspiracy theorists so people wouldn't use tails to hide themselves, making it easier to find retards like you. There's absolutely no proof that the microcode is a backdoor, not to mention the fact that there is "microcode injection" on almost all non-shitty linux distros.
Actually do some research before you decide to be autistic and jump to the broad conclusion that tails is backdoored. Otherwise, shut the fuck up.

Javascript by default cannot reveal the IP of a user behind the tor browser. The site is probably detecting the use of a tor exit node and is blocking it. It's really easy for web administrators to block connections from the tor network.
OP, what you have to do is simple. Simply install gentoo
