To Group Owners

Or don't sell buyins.

I like that tip more.

I feel like buyins are just a norm now which won't change so people see groups as more of a way to profit. If nobody sold buyins, Im not sure the price would change for groups anyways as if there is only a single group with buyins then people will flock to it for an easy userbar. And anybody can start them up very quickly and easily.

1 - If he is desperatly in need of money.
2 - If the group is dead with no activity and the owner has no idea on what to do to bring it back to life.

Other then this I don't think a group owner should sell it ever.
Besides the endless possibilites about marketing and profiting with it, there's the amazing user interaction that you don't find outside the group.
You get to know amazing persons and even develope projects and other things with them.

So yeah pretty much it.
But as I mentioned, only my opinion. 👍

You forgot reason #3:

3 - The community is slowly dying.

Preach the motherfucking word! 🤗

Some group owners just have a group for the fun of it. Fuck'All'That, if you ain't making money then it doesn't make sense.
I agree people can make money from groups, I don't have anything against it. But you shouldn't look at groups as an investment to make money. Not purely anyways as you could invest in way better things to make you money if that is your only goal. HF groups don't make you cash fast.

I don't know why people automatically assume that having a buy in for your group makes it LQ lul. If you think the key to running a great group is to not have buy ins then you don't deserve to lead or own a group because you're ignorant.

Tell me that Null and Instinct didn't live up their expectations as one of the best groups on the forum even with buy ins. Too bad I won't be around to see how groups do after their downfall, it'd be funny to see it though. I only see one or two groups doing well.
Personally bought my group for other reasons than to make money because I don't need to or feel like making money with it.

Yeah I'm not sure either... I never thought buyins made the group LQ.

Exactly, I don't get it, the people that say buy ins make groups LQ are the people who either don't know how to run a group, don't have access to taking the money from buy ins if they lead a group and or don't have people buying into their group because the group sucks in general.

Blunt as fuck.
I remember back when I joined - albeit not that long ago - the whole 'buyin group = LQ' stigma wasn't really there. It's only been the last year or so with the group exit scams that people have gotten this idea.

Just don't buy into groups with owners that aren't experiences group owners or randoms on the site.

Also don't do $5 buyins kek

That would of been funny if it wasn't so strung out...

(Jul 18, 2015 12:35 PM)D3xus Wrote:  So are you saying that arbitrarily inflating the prices of groups to alienate even more users from attempting to start their own is the way to go? Because that's what I'm reading. The prices for groups are stable at between $8,000-$10,000. Two groups are currently on the market for $9,000 (Null and Instinct). Debug is being sold to its new owner for $8,000. It's a far cry from the $2,000 that I remember because of the demand for new groups, but that does not mean the price should increase indefinitely. The price will crash if it goes up too high. Keep the prices at somewhere in the same range and everything will be fine.

Instinct is being sold again? Fucking hell.

And didn't the owner of Debug say the group was going to stick around and not be sold?
