I've been enjoying this anime/ manga so far. The main character seems overpowered, but it's not for some dumb reason like "he's kirito bby hes so cool".

I can't wait for him to conquer the world on accident. :P (You know, after episode 4 when his followers mistake his intentions as taking over the planet.)

Normally anime like this (with the fantasy/ confusion beginning) don't give any backstory until later on in the story. We don't know much about MC or his guild, and we probably wont until it becomes super relevant.
