Is it just the same with different names?
If not then i don't see the difference, both can remote controll their targets 😧

RAT's or remote access Trojan's are used for infecting individuals mostly to steal their items on games such as Runescape, or any other game that you could sell items for things like bitcoins, paypal etc.
Botnets are mostly used for mass-spreading, and have tons of other illegal functions that aren't allowed to be talked about on HF, some of the HF-allowed ones are DDOS'ing and Spam sending. Botnets tend to cost a hell of a lot more than setting up a RAT. Botnet cost - $300 - $500 for a decent botnet, then renting ek's will drive the cost up incredibly. RAT cost - $40(LL) + $5(VPN). Starting with RAT'ing is always good as you can make tons of money off it and you learn about the basics of malware, how to convince people to download your file etc. (Aug 8, 2015 07:57 AM)Neos07 Wrote: There is a RAT for DDoSing. (IP Killer) That is true, its all depending in the features of the RAT/Botnet . Despite botnets are mostly just large groups of RAT's. It's cheaper and has the almost all same features. Just rent a ek using a rat? (Aug 8, 2015 08:09 AM)hello im me Wrote: Then why can you just use a RAT as a botnet? A RAT is more of a client to manage remote PC's. It is not something you would want to use if you plan on holding a large amount of bots.
A "botnet" can be many things and they all have a different purpose. You have loaders which are meant to hold a large amount of bots and remain stable. You have bots like Dirt Jumper which is solely meant for DDoS and not to hold bots. You have your multi functional bots which are really just RAT's with a web panel. Then you have the highly illegal banking bots. |
