Welcome to the Member of the Month voting thread for August 2015!
Sorry for the delay, I was out of town.
Member of the Month is a competition that awards one special member each month for their contributions throughout the community. Every member has the potential to win the award, but the final decision is made by the combined efforts of the user base and forum staff. To learn more about how the competition works, click here!
The finalists have been chosen! The Voting phase begins today and ends on Tuesday, September 8, 2015!
This is your chance to determine who wins the award. You may only vote for one person per month, so make your vote count! Feel free to post in this thread noting your reason for your vote, but it's not necessary.
Please read Member of the Month - Explained for rules and regulations.
Vote in the poll for one of the following members:
King of Hearts
ӍeshCollider
May the best member win!
King of Hearts has three contributions listed which is one more than Mesh, therefore he is more deserving.
My vote goes to MeshCollider, he's played a massive role in getting OMC to where it is today.

King of hearts. He contributes a lot in brotherhood.
I had to flip a coin to choose. Looks like Mesh gets it due to OMC
I thought MOTM needed at least 4 participants to get a vote?
I'm going with King on this one. His tutorials and contributions have helped me a lot.

Why do I only get 2 contributions and KOH gets 3 lol. I have done more than 2 helpful posts this month 😝

I voted for Froggy this month. Best of luck to all candidates.

I agree that there are always HQ members that slip under the radar and are never nominated, and it is a shame. It is all up to other members to find those they think are worthy of it and nominate them. I am glad to see that at least my only competitor this month really deserves the award, because I really hate it when the winners are just the most well known regardless of their contributions. At least some members win the award for good reason :)
On that note, good luck to King of Hearts, you truly deserve recognition for your contributions 🤝. I thought for a while that I was going to have no competition at all haha.
By the way Hex, you had the chance to nominate one of the members you listed this month too you know 🙃

I chose not to just because of this reason.
Only two Nominations this month? Anyways even if its less, both will have a good competition. King and Mesh, both have made some great contributions to the forums. May the better Wins
>complains good members aren't nominated
>never nominates anyone

This is a direct result of using 'first past the post' which ultimately favors only two candidates even if there is a plethora of people running. The system will also knock people down to only 2 candidates, as that's the threshold for a majority--even if small.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7tWHJfhiyo <- For problems with First past the post
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Y3jE3B8HsE <- An alternative voting system, which would easily allow multiple candidates a fair, reliable and majority-giving election.
How it can be implemented on HF, I've no idea. I made a suggestion about it: https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=3142719
But given that Omni has more important things to do than worry about the statistics of a single voting system, I don't believe it'll be fixed.
