Interview - Microrobot
vurezo: Hi Microrobot thanks for joining the Interview.
Microrobot: Hi vurezo thanks for the Interview I am excited to be interviewed.
vurezo: Sure, any mentions you want to make (shoutouts) to anyone?
Microrobot: I would like to leave a shoutout to Five, Soccer, #Arash on Hack Forums for always being a close friends and helping me when I needed it. I would definitely vouch for their fluid personalities and just all 3 of them have helped me significantly. Another shoutout to my other homies! Apple J4ck, p1st, Understalker, Mostwanted, Ryan Reynolds, Aggron, Mr. Trvp, Krew, Critical, The Judge, HomieOC, and vurezo!
vurezo: How did you find Hack Forums?
Microrobot: I found Hack Forums just from Google this was back in 2012. I have seen the forum many times but I was hesitant of joining a site called "Hack" forums thinking it was an illegal site. But in November I finally registered on the site and since then I have been here proudly.
vurezo: You seem to be known around here by many users how did you get there?
Microrobot: Well I wouldn't call myself "Super popular" I am known by several people and maybe those "Super popular" people that have stuck with me and I could trust. I am been involved with several projects and it has been great. I have learned a lot and had fun along the way. It was really tough in 2012 to get to where I am today. Back in 2012, the Hack Forums community was not as friendly and were very strict I think presently Hack Forums is a lot friendlier but we have lost some users along the way and gained many. Although I might not post a lot on Hack Forums I am always doing something!
vurezo What are your interests?
Microrobot: I am interested in security although I cannot say I know “it all” I do know a vast about when it comes to certain OS's and how malware and RAT's work and prevention methods.
vurezo: Ah, ok. I saw you have a cologne business how was that?
Microrobot: Well... We faced several problems but that's the beauty of Hack Forums you get to experiment and learn through a marketplace and see what works and what doesn't. The price of the cologne were not cheap alongside shipping from Italy to other countries were just way too expensive this as a result lead to me closing the business.
vurezo: You did an RDP Business I see as well?
Microrobot: Yes, we had an RDP business it was a partnership with Ryan Reynolds, and Jake Miller, and Five. Another lesson learned I had too much of an expensive server for starting it costed $300 and had way too much ram (64gb) ended up with 5 customers at the end of the month made a complete loss I realized I put too much in one basket but overall it was a good learning experience.
vurezo: So what have you been up to recently?
Microrobot: Just like others I am trying to experiment and see what the market needs and doesn't need. I almost always have something in my hands at some point.
vurezo: So how did you find your journey on Hack Forums to be?
Microrobot: To be quite honest Hack Forums in 2012 was very intimating and a lot harder to rank up back then. During this time Anonymous and others were very active and it was very tight-knit. Since then Hack Forums has become a lot easier to gain reputation around here.
vurezo: What benefits would you say you received from Hack Forums (Pros/Cons)?
Microrobot: Hack Forums has helped me tremendously! Financially, obtaining knowledge, and making friends. Looking back if I didn't get on Hack Forums my life would have been a lot worse my closest friends from Hack Forums have helped me tremendously over the years! The only cons with Hack Forums it can be distracting sometimes your real life tasks get involved and you have to make sure you prioritize very well.
vurezo: Ok are you planning any new projects?
Microrobot: Absolutely! I almost always have a project to do which is great it keeps me busy!
vurezo: Any last words/shoutouts?
Microrobot: I just want to thank the Hack Forums member Five, and #Arash more specifically for always being there when I really, really, needed it! These 2 have helped me the most and I owe them a lot. #Arash I bothered him a lot and he was always there to help no matter what time or day. Thanks!
vurezo: Thanks for allowing me to interview you. Hope to see you soon!
Microrobot: Thanks vurezo you also have been a great person to work with!

Microsoft is Automatically Downloading Windows 10 to Computers
If your computer is running Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 and you have Windows Update enabled, you may or may not have noticed a large file between 3.5 GB and 6 GB being downloaded. This file is actually linked to the Windows 10 installation. By doing this, Microsoft is consuming your disk space and using your internet bandwidth. Many users of Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 have also reported that a large folder called ‘$Windows.~BT’ has been created. It is attempting to install Windows 10 every time they boot up their computers. >>Source
Pentagon Hacked, Credit Card Data Stolen
The computer systems of Pentagon's food court were infiltrated by hackers. And credit card information of employees got leaked. Lt. Col. Tom Crosson, the spokesman of the Defense Department has confirmed that the bank account information of employees has been leaked. Employees who paid concessions at the Pentagon with either debit or credit card have been informed of the breach. the Pentagon Force Protection Agency has revealed that they have received reports of fraudulent use of credit cards belonging to personnel. >>Source
South Shore Medical Center Site Hacked, Sensible Customer Information Compromised
The US based health insurer Excellus BlueCross BlueShield has informed the media that their computer systems were breached, along with the computer systems of their affiliates. Reportedly, 10 million customers have been affected by the security breach. The company is providing free identity theft protection service to affected members and "is taking all the necessary steps to counter the problems created after the hack." >>Source
10 Million Health Records Stolen
Yet another medical data breach following just shortly after an 80 million user hack of Anthem in January, leaves us concerned about user data. Excellus BlueCross BlueShield reported that 10 millions user files were stolen, even more disturbing is the fact that the breach has been ongoing for multiple months before being noticed. With dozens of other smaller breaches this year it is not hard to see why these medical targets are so tempting, with access to everything you would need to steal someone's identity. As threats become more advanced it is surprising to see medical companies especially using such outdated security methods such as running outdated OS and using fax machines. In the near future expect to see much more stringent HIPAA regulations and measures. The best you can hope for right now, is that your data is safe and not breached. >>Source
Android Gets StageFright
Several months ago researchers at Zimperium Security found a nasty little android exploit, that could affect 950,000,000 devices, and names it Stagefright. Now after feeling that they have waited long enough for patches, they have released the information on it along with a test file to see if your phone is patched( note it is only working on one device). The exploit booby traps a file and when loaded can open up a remote shell to the device along with other features. The problem is that many Androids are configured to download and display MMS messages by default so any booby trapped video could be auto executed in the background. Currently to avoid any problems make sure your device and app are updated, along with not opening files from unknown sources. Expect more shenanigans to follow. >>Source
Paypal Makes a 2FA Useless
A user on Reddit recently discovered a Social Engineering technique that hackers may have already been using to break into PayPal Account. All that has to be do is to message the Paypal support on twitter and say you cannot login, then give the accounts email. Surprisingly with little persuasion they will disable 2FA. Along with other issues in the previous month with their security and refusing to patch it this comes surprising that such a large financial company using a very secure method, would just turn it off when asked. Most other sites require a phone number or some other validation before doing this, Paypal says that they have "other ways" of verifying identify. For now be sure to keep it enabled and to have a secure password. >>Source

Amazon, Cisco, Google, Intel, Microsoft, Mozilla, and Netflix Partner to Build Open Media Formats
Technology industry giants Amazon, Cisco, Google, Intel, Microsoft, Mozilla and Netflix announced today the launch of a new open source consortium — the Alliance for Open Media (AOM) — with the goal of developing the next generation of royalty-free video formats, codecs and other related technologies. The open-source project will consolidate several codec development projects into a single working group that hopes to deliver a next-generation video codec by late 2016 or early 2017. Each of the seven companies will contribute technology (royalty free) and expertise to support high-quality video, audio, imagery, and streaming across all types of devices. For example, Cisco will share technology relating to its new video codec Thor, Google will share details surrounding VP10, and Mozilla will offer up Daala. >>Source

Android Ransomware That Can Change a Device's PIN Code
Researchers at security company ESET have discovered the first known Android lock-screen-type ransomware spreading in the wild that sets the phone’s PIN lock. The malware calls itself "Porn Droid" and bills itself as a viewer for adult content. It has been seen only on third-party Android application marketplaces or forums for pirated software, wrote Lukas Stefanko, an ESET malware analyst. After it's installed, users see a warning supposedly from the FBI that they've allegedly viewed "prohibited pornography." It asks for a $500 fine to be paid within three days. Unfortunately, for most users, the only option to get rid of the malware is to reset the phone to its factory settings, which also deletes all the data on the device. >>Source
