NO NEXPOSE IN KALI 2.0?!

So i just tried to install nexpose on my fresh installed kali linux 2.0 and the kernel is WRONG?! dafaq? How am i suppost to solve this, do i only need an update or should i go back to kali 1.0?
Officially, Nexpose does not support Kali Linux 2.0 at all. It doesn't even like it's underlying distribution very much, although we can probably expect to see some support coming sometime in the future.

Now going forward from that, I'll be happy to help here here on the thread if you could make some attempt to post a better error report. Include the actual error message (in full), along with a list of your currently running services and additional packages you may have installed after the installation of Kali 2.0. Are you also sure that you have downloaded the correct version and attempted the install correctly?
I have the same problem. Kali 2.0 runs on Kernel 4.x. The installer of Nexpose actually shows two errors:
- [Warning] - kali 2.0 operating system was detected. The detected version of the operating system is not recommended.
- [Fail] - An unsupported kernel version 4.0.0-kali1-amd64 was detected.

The installation can't be continued because of the [Fail] error.

Hope there will be a kind of workaround for this, been searching for hours now. Thanks for the help.
The kernel 4.X is not supported, and it looks to me like Kali has their own custom kernel modifications that may never be supported. I was able to install kernel 3.18 and it worked like a charm.

You can use the KernelUpgrade script I wrote to automatically download, compile, and install your new shiny kernel.

It's almost like you don't have to do anything at all.

Just remember to choose "advanced boot options" in the Grub menu, or edit /boot/grub/grub.cfg to make it hte default.

Have fun.

Keep in mind, this process will take hours!!!

What program would you recommend for a vulnerability scanner?
Avoid using them entirely I mean I have issues using spiders sometimes do you have any idea how obvious it is to anyone who knows anything about netflow analysis or even someone who just bothers to read their log files now you can come up with the old bullshit statement I'll delete the logs afterwards the fuck about the netflow or what if the logging is centralized yeah man. Really man what if you're testing a company with a fuckload of appliances like a cisco Meraki, a bunch of baracudas, and fortinets. Dude really I know manual recon can be tedious but bear with it man good habits to keep your ass out of jail. I mean really if you want something to ease the load encountering in the web something like this say whatweb or something doesn't get it right you can write a dirbuster in a few lines of code to check for popular cms folders, info disclosure files.

Yes Clock you should know how to write your own tools I know you think hey man there are fuckloads of them it makes the job faster and I like the idea of make sure to use one tool that does one job really well Im not saying your should be a developer writing huge oo programs but like just know automation, network programming, web client requests shit like that and if you wanna get good learn low level languages.
if you look at the system requirements, the latest version of NeXpose doesn't support Kali at all...the older version supported Kali 1.0.9, but that has been removed from the supported versions...

Thanks for repeating what has already been said
