[Request] Vb.net to PHP Socket Upload Example

I am looking for an example of how to make a socket connection from vb.net to php, for the purposes of uploading files.

My current operation using a webclient post, and I wonder if using a socket connection would allow me to hold open the connection and push multiple files thru the socket before timeout.

I am not experience with sockets, is there an advantage?

I am trying to limit my amount of web requests needed to upload a very large amount of files.

My hosting provider, sometimes blacklists my ip, because of how many requests I send at once. There ddos protection is the reason. Even if I only run 10 parallel threads.

Any thoughts or examples would be greatly appreciated.
dont think it wil solve ur problem but here how http://stackoverflow.com/questions/17050...-in-vb-net
This gives me some ideas, but I am still looking. Thank you for your reply
You don't need to use Sockets for this. Instead, you should use an HttpWebRequest and access the request stream, then just append the files as needed (via the POST data boundary). Do this and increase the Timeout value (or set it to -1, I think that may remove the timeout entirely?). It would also help to set the KeepAlive header to true on both the HttpWebRequest and server side. Uhh.. and I would personally keep concurrent connections per client down to 3 unless you are hosting on a VPS / dedi and have full control over the mitigation systems.
Aeonhack thank you for your reply. If there was an advantage to sockets you would no. I will look into using HTTPWebRequest, as for the timeout my hosting provider only allows 60 seconds, even with the timeout value set to -1. I may try to reduce the threads. I am considering buying a dedicated server to host my website, but my bandwidth is limited to 60mb/s, so instead a VPS is my next move as my site is very large, 250,000 items and I usually refresh about 30,000 items a week, complete with image and spec sheets, so I am quickly outgrowing my shared hosting provider.

Thank you for your insights, I will let you know how it works.

Probably %90 of your posts are giving links to people.

Thats because %90 of the problems posted on this forums can be answered with a simple google search.
