We have a verification system in place which allows users to verify that they are speaking to the person on the forum. Eg, a HF user will confirm themselves on Onu and have a tick with their HF UID next to their name.

Doesn't XMPP have that same feature with the OTR plugin? Authorizing your buddies.

Doesn't https use SSL?

SSL is insecure, i think the BEAST attack makes it weak.
Also if you use TLS, you can launch a CRIME attack, because the way TLS compresses data leaks information.

On the web, you can't be ultra secure. I wouldn't rely on this without more information on how it encrypts the information.

I just used this for a quick offsite something, and i must say i am VERY impressed on how quick i can make a chat and the use of the chat overall.

10/10 will definitly use more.

Also 1 little suggestion, maybe add something like privnote.com so i can stay on 1 site :p, i wanted to send a message but unfortunately the max amount of characters in 1 message was 265 if i'm correct.

Thank you for your kind words! I will be sure to think about implementing such a feature, as for the 256 char limit, that will have to stay until we update to a much bigger server, pretty soon.
