I've been playing csgo for only 70 hours, have 18 wins, and I am silver master elite. Honestly, maybe it's the $200 laptop I play on, my crappy wifi, or that I'm not a pc gamer but a console one, but I hate the csgo skill gap. I had my global elite friend play on my account for fun, I'm now gold nova master and holy shit are people good. Everyone kills you within 3 shots of an ak, people are amazing with awps, it's nearly impossible to play, I went 4/19 and have no plan to keep playing after this. Generally on console I adapt quickly to the game and when I do I achieve the highest ranks but people on computer are too hardcore.
Anyone else have a story of how they went from horrible to amazing? I just want to know if it's even possible for me to get better from where I am
What?
At nova master > holy shit are people good. Everyone kills you within 3 shots of an ak, people are amazing with awps, it's nearly impossible to play,
At GE level > you won't even know how you die

I dropped from nova 3 to silver four due to the shit internet I play on now that I play with silvers its like watching 12 year olds pick up the game for the first time. I would rather kick everyone on my team and play with bots.

Yea, I 1v1'd my global elite friend, I didn't think it was possible to always 1 tap with the ak no matter where I was

It's not possible to always 1 tap with the ak . Well technically you can but you will most at some point

He was 1tapping because he was confident you wouldn't kill him. GEs can only spray and pray 90% of the time.
I've been playing since July 2014, and I started out at Silver 4. I'm a SMFC now, and I'm able to compete as a rifler and IGL at the CEVO Amateur League (the kind that takes money to get into and has a prize pool).
I basically did nothing but watch pro gameplay in my free time, mainly because it was entertaining, in part because I knew that watching Community (great show tbh) wasn't going to get me any better at CS. I really wanted it, so I did practice a hefty amount. I optimized settings and peripherals in order to improve. Maps like training_aim_csgo and aim_botz were one of the most important steps in me moving through the ranks like a hot knife through butter, because my flicking aim was all over the place. I played KZ and surf in order to learn to control my movement. I deathmatched efficiently and watched POVs of games from players higher than me. I watched my own demos and marked down each time I died and how it happened, never writing the same excuse twice (you very rarely die in a way that isn't your fault. Some of the only examples I can think of are getting killed though smoke or nadestacked at a random time when in a random position that you wouldn't expect to get grenaded.) I watched friends' demos and gave constructive criticism and picked up on their mannerisms if they were effective. Sometimes I wouldn't even share the review with them, I just did it in order to improve game sense wise. I played competitive with a full team that wanted to work as a team and win, even if it was only matchmaking. That team progressed with me at the same pace that I did, moving from silver to what could be considered the shitty end of semi-professional CSGO.
It's the same as bodybuilding. You work bit by bit and you'll eventually get there. You can overtrain CS, you'll have slumps, you'll have a loss of motivation at times, etc. It really depends on how much you want to try to get better.
GOLD NOVA IS A FUCKING JOKE
