I just realized that this thread had been published two months before I started work on the Hacker Ethos. Just wanted to say that I considered this guide to be very high quality and precisely addressed the issues for which my book was written.
You did a proper, professional job on this. I'm very disappointed that it did not get more attention. It deserved much more than that. Well done sir. 🤝

So, Lzard squar, SEA and all the other hacking groups are just script kiddies? lol
You can say "ethical bad" hacker or what ever, but script kiddie is a "kid" which make use of template scripts or is just a noob.
When you write your own malware make nice ddos etc. your not a script kiddie. sry.
nice text anyway

I can't believe you just called RATing 'skiddy', while random Website hacking to deface them for no reason is supposed to be 'real hacking' ? Wow.

At the very least, I can say that website tampering requires some actual understanding of code and web traffic behavior in order to circumvent most security features (assuming you aren't a dumbass who relies entirely on sqlmap or havij and that is all you know). With RATing, there is no such requirement. You buy your generic RAT, crypter, attach it to a file, and send it out into the web. There is no point at which the attacker uses any means of exploitation other than the social engineering aspect of the attack, and usually, it isn't all that impressive. RATs target stupid users who don't know any better.
If RATing is all you know, then yes, I would absolutely qualify that person as a skid.

When I say skiddy I'm talking about booting and RATing.

When did I say defacing random sites wasn't skiddy? Don't make random assumptions lol. Did you not even glance in the ethics part of the guide?
And just for the record, RATing is infinitely more skiddy than random defacing. However, random defacing is fucked up and I have never condoned it. Again, quote me as to where I said I did.
Thank you for sharing!I'm looking for entrance to this field, and do sth. useful.
Very nice guide, just had an overview but im going to read the whole text some day :)
Thank you Disparity, I enjoyed reading this (:
Thank you for the insight, it'll help me a lot in the future.
Thanks for the share, very informative and I was particularly interested in the Ethics part, there is a lot of debate in that section. I personally love to hear others opinions.
love it this helped me get a better understanding of hacking and how it works.
Its superb guide. Really like it
Very nice Disparity, I love to see you helping out the community with HQ threads like this. Keep it up man!
