Adventure & Insects

I recently took a working vacation to Northern Australia and met up with my father during his vacation. The first picture is of my Father as we wandered through a park, the second is of a bee with it's pollen sacks absolutely stuffed - I'm a backyard beekeeper and just cant get enough of these gals.

What type of equipment did you use? I like the colors.
They were both shot with my old camera: Canon T2i (Recently got myself a Canon 6d for Christmas - cause I'm worth it - ha)

The adventure was using a Canon 70-200 2.8L.

Bee photo taken with a Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM on a 13 mm extension tube.

Neither photo was taken with any external lighting.

I can personally stand by [B&H],[Adorama], and [Amazon] (Amazon has a returned items program called Amazon Warehouse where you can get discounts for open box/used items - just click the used option if there is one on the product you want and keep an eye out or "Amazon Warehouse" - it will also list what kind of damage if any is related to it.)

Aside from online - shop around Craigslist - that's how i got my 70-200 IS for 1k instead of 2k. The dude was a sports photographer for my states' biggest cities' newspaper and only shot a couple hundred shots with the lens before going bigger. The only damage to it was wear on the monopod ring that comes with the lens. Deals ARE out there.

I advise staying away from physical photography equipment retailers as they often mark up by an exorbitant amount. (But do sometimes price match on new eq).
Really cool picture of you dad, mate.
Looks like some indiana jones adventures
