Yea i've tried that its quite the issue with openvpn really destroys how great the client is.

Openvpn installs them during its own installation also yes i've tried that sadly :(

It does, but Windows typically opens a box asking whether you want to install "Tun/Tap device interface" - just one idea.

How strange, which version of Windows are you using (assuming it's Windows)?

Also make sure the connection is opened.

uninstall your openvpn client & resources along with the tun/tap driver, then reinstall them both separately, and as Administrator. this has been a common issue in win8/win10 operating systems

Open device manager > network adapters and uninstall all TAP adapters.
After that re-install it by using the following installer: https://swupdate.openvpn.org/community/r...9.21.1.exe
