Upgrade Shipping Information

Since I no longer accept Paypal I am no longer going to require shipping information for upgrades. Previously it was used in order to check IP against a PP shipping address to help me verify legitimate payments vs fraud attempts. I would catch a lot of fraud that way.

Seems unnecessary now to ask for it, so I won't.

Realistically the removal of PP as a payment processor for HF is going to allow me to consider options for the site that I wouldn't normally consider if only because I was concerned about Paypal TOS/AUP.

I can't say what changes are coming because of it but I do know there will be changes and I feel a burden is lifted now that it's done.

Thanks.
Fair enough.

I'm thinking about dropping PayPal myself at this point. The Marketplace discussion is always full of complaints against them, and I'm just waiting for something to happen to me as well.

Crypto is the way to go.
This is intriguing, I wonder what it will be :)
Yeah I'm intrigued to know what changes are coming. Look forward to an update.

Bitcoin is being used more and more by the day, but still probablytmajority of payments are done through PayPal... won't that drastically decrease income?

I'm sure omni is the only one who needs to be concerned about the sites income.

I'm sure it will. But the forum will gain a lot of new members because of the new sections (I guess that's what will change).
There are some websites that allows you to your your PayPal account to finally buy Bitcoins.

Do you keep our addresses? If yes, will you delete them now?

For at least the past 6 months the vast majority of payments I was accepting was with Bitcoin. I was eventually going to be 100% Bitcoin anyways.

Actually Coinpayments deletes transactions I believe after 15 days (might be 30?) and they do not forward to me the Bitcoin TXN or the BTC address paid to or from.
I wanted to post something regarding my upgrades, but ... heh, seems unnecessary to point out. But this seems reasonable, Crypto, being "anonymous" and all, there is no reason for tracking, its an irreversible transaction in which the site admin cant get fucked out of.

Makes sense to me, I switched to crypto shortly after becoming a part of the community again... Outright refuse paypal unless from close trusted people now.
Wouldn't fraud payments be more likely with this?
I'm actually glad HF has switched to an all crypto currency based forum. Less of a worry, no charge backs or childish shit.
I genuinely don't care.

It depends on what you mean and what payment processor.

What about the old purchases which are done via paypal?
I mean, (Example) when some member bought ub3r upgrade, he provided shipping address if paid via PayPal.
Those address are now kept, deleted or what it will happen?
HF Member Since 2010

How are you committing fraud with irreversible crypto?
Omni has no idea or care where the BTC came from.

It's money, and its nonrefundable, perfect business model IMO.
