I think I may have been screwed over. I have done my research and after purchasing a Galaxy S6, 2 days later it is blacklisted! Now I am out $500! Is there any way at all to root this thing and somehow get the IMEI fixed?! I don't know what I am doing but need to get this fixed 😭

Rooting your s6 won't fix your imei problem. But if you want to root your phone be careful. You don't want Knox to detect that you have rooted your phone since it can be a big issue. But to fix the imei problem I have found some interesting articles and video tutorials for you to help you out.

A brand new Galaxy S6 G920W8 32GB Black Unlocked costs about $520 on Amazon, now you mean to tell me that you bought a used Galaxy S6 for $500 and it turned out to be stolen and it's IMEI blacklisted?

I'm also certain that if you bought online off some website you'll have ways to revert the transaction (PayPal/Credit Card).

While you can most definitely root your device, it is irrelevant to your IMEI status and it will not change anything.

If contact with the previous owner proves to be unsuccessful the only thing I'd advise you to do is sell it on eBay for parts, at least get a portion of your money back.

It is Canadian currency which is why it was $500. I bought it locally off a guy and met with him and paid cash that I had saved up as my old phone broke on me 😭 I may just have to sell it for parts 😟
