I was really suprised when I decided to watch kyoukai no kanata (Beyond the boundary) ; yesterday as I thought it would be something very sub-par and not very likable but just okay; However it turned out to be something I would rate at least 9 for a 13 episode series plus 1 movie and ova (don't count the recap movie).

I originally watched the first 3 episodes a few months back and it didn't leave any spectacular impressions on me; However as I said I decided to finish it all yesterday and oh I was wrong the series gets so so much better ; it is very good In both the romance and action genres imo ; and the episode 0 ova was a nice addition showing how the Nase family met akihiro. The second movie was really great too imo; didn't think they'd be able to add onto the series after they ended the series like they did but they did and well.

I'd recommend the series to anyone if you are looking for something to watch, and the first few episodes aren't an accurate representaton of its quality.

This may not have the best plot and it kinda feels rushed because of the limited 13 episode frame, but its OP and ED songs are totally off the chart :D

The movie was really great; I love when stuff gets emotional. Aspects like Spoiler (Click to View)Memory loss; are the best. I like the fact that 70% of the movie revolves around the emotional Ness of akihiro and the girl relationship and how she has lost her memories but somehow still feels like she knows him.

Spoiler (Click to View) It's fuzzy but was his "mom" really his mom and did we find out who she was in the extra content? I remember a line asking who she really was.

Nah they didn't say much about that; however Spoiler (Click to View)The wiki page says that she is basically the gatekeeper between the two worlds; which makes sense as her son was born as half youma, and she mated with a youma when she was human? As well as the fact that; beyond the boundary decided to reside within him, which is the "gate" persay.
