SSL is meant for websites transmitting valuable data / personal information such as Credit card information and the likes.

HF does not fall into that category, and SSL would just slow down the website.

Thanks for the update Omni, I've gone ahead and changed my email over. Will be changing my password as well even tho its just a randomly generated one. I think we should let all users have access to the 2GAUTH not just the ubers and stuff. I highly doubt someone has the database dump else it would of been leaked by now, but like you said we get a more safe HF out of this in the long run.

Another email provider option you could try is yourself. Get a VPS (you can get 1 GB ram VPS as low as $24 a year) and a domain (avg $10) and run mail in a box, create your own email server. Digitalocean, [censored], linode, etc. are capable of hosting it all cheap (under $10/mo), and providers (check lowendbox.com) can do cheap yearly ($24/yr). My email server (private) costs me $35/yr total all paid in BTC

I realize SSL is not only used for websites.
Infact I use it on my own VPN servers.
Now lets not go off-topic, but SSL is not meant for sites like HF.
