He first suggested buying around 600$ worth of items.

I declined this and stated that 40$ was the maximum increment I was willing to do for the item: AWP Lightning Strike - Minimal Wear.

I'm sorry but you deserved to get scammed. If you looked at his rep/trust-scan/ Searched his UID you could see has over 10+ Scam reports.

If the person who is scamming becomes an issue where everyone is getting scammed in a short period of time then he will be closed. Also it depends on how omni or staff is feeling tbh. But don't take my word for it I don't really know much.
