So obviously the ice bucket challenge is set to start on August of 2016, who all here is going to participate in the challenge?

Its not about curing it you dip. People pour water on their heads and if they don't then they are supposed to donate towards finding a cure. Stop being a smart ass. Plus water cannot actually be wasted, its a self renewable element.

I'm a 12 year old, so no not really.
Though I love seeing people pouring ice water over themselves to support a cause. Has anyway actually confirmed that this is helping at all?

Without googling, tell me what ALS stands for. Bonus point how many people you got to donate by throwing water on your head. Unless of course again if the person with ALS was on fire. (May 27, 2016 12:48 AM)Morrakiu Wrote: 3) Drinkable water can be wasted. You're mental. Turn on a faucet and I guarantee you it won't run out unless your broke ass cant afford the bill. Quote:Without googling, tell me what ALS stands for. Some states like California have huge drought problems, and will fine you for wasting water. 2) If everyone wastes water we have a problem. 3) It was a joke. 4) Good for you I bet you still googled that 5) How many people have you saved by pouring water on your head?

It causes the body to react similar to ALS so people can get a very small glimpse at what it's like having ALS. Not sure how you can say people don't donate when the previous challenge raised over $100M. Just a shame that it doesn't all go into research instead most of it's lost due to taxes and other corporate funding which is stupid. World is run by greedy fucks. The rich get richer. These little challenges help to get it out in the open, raise awareness. I guarantee most people had never heard of ALS until it became a trend and "celebrities" started joining in. Anyway, each to their own. I don't take part either. "Ideas are peaceful, history is violent"

Drinkable water cannot be wasted, the world has a virtually unlimited supply of water, on top of that we have the technology to make salt water drinkable by removing the saline from the water. And now that Antarctica is thawing there will be even more water. It's not our fault that other countries have poor water supply because they lack the funds to provide a proper water treatment and collection system for there country. Go to the beach get some salt water, put it in a pot and put a glass in there with it but do not fill the glass, get the water to boiling point but not to the point where it boils into the glass, put a lid on it upside down so the handle is facing directly to the cup, wait and guess what? you got fresh drinking water. Salt water can be put into huge stills and be made drinkable, there is also filtration system capable of removing the saline as well. So until you can come up with a true exact estimate of when billions of gallons of water will magically disappear from the ocean then the "wasting water" crap that is going around is bullshit. |
