Welcome to my complete FIFA 16 Ultimate Team thread - Here I have written down pretty much anything
and everything you'll need to know about FIFA 16's most popular game mode!

"Here’s your chance to build the Ultimate Team you’ve always dreamed of!"

The main objective of Ultimate Team is to build a unique squad of players from the ground up to compete in a variety of both offline and online game modes, with the ambition of expanding your squad to a near-unbeatable level. You can acquire new players and consumable items for your club by selling your unwanted items, trading with others in the online marketplace (more on that later), and by simply playing matches; doing this will earn you coins with which you can buy packs and/or spend in the transfer market.

Players and consumables are judged by three different levels; bronze (lower ratings), silver (middle rating) and gold (high ratings). Each of these are also divided into rare and non-rare; you can see this indicated on the card as a rare card will have shining animation to it, where as a non-rare will not.

Now along with the 3 standard card types, there are various others included in the game.

Weekly in-form cards:

A squad of players that are selected for playing well in that particular week.

Team of the season:

Each league will have a squad of players that have been outstanding for the entire season, these players will each get a Team of the Season (TotS) card.

Team of the year:

Certain players layers that were shortlisted for the ballon d'or award.

LEGEND cards:

Former professional players who were the best of the best in their era.

Hero cards:

Players that in a particular game appeared to save the day, labeling them a hero - similar to MOTM cards.

MOTM (Man of the match) cards:

Players that in a particlar game who stood out from the rest.

iMOTM (International man of the match) cards:

Same as the MOTM award, except it was obtained in an international match.



Futtie Card:

Community chosen MOTM cards.

Pro card:

Professional players that play the game and get their own special card.

A brand new way to play FIFA Ultimate Team. This new mode will test your team building skills as you pick the best fit for each position from a five-player draw. Draft a squad and challenge opponents in a series of up to four matches to win big rewards for your club.

Start your FUT Draft by choosing between five different formations. Choose wisely: the formation you pick will remain as your default formation throughout the series of matches. Will you pick a formation you’re more familiar with or experiment with a formation you’ve never tried before?



After picking your formation, it’s time to build your squad. Your first player decision is picking a Captain from a set of five superstars.



From there, fill out the rest of your 23-man squad by picking players for each position from a random draw of five players. You’ll be faced with interesting team building challenges: do you grab the best highest rated player in that position or focus on maximizing team Chemistry? Try different combinations to see what works best for you. After selecting your starting XI, Bench, and Reserves you can then move players around to improve your Chemistry rating.



Once you’re ready, it’s time to take your squad to the pitch and challenge opponents to compete in a four-match series. You can compete in single player or online against opponents across the globe. As you progress, you’ll earn better rewards, including coins, packs, and more. Win four matches in a row to earn the best rewards possible!

Head on over to the transfers tab on Ultimate Team to access the transfer market - the online transfer network for all players and consumables in Ultimate Team, anyone can use this market to buy and sell items for and from their club. When searching for players and items, you're given the ability to use specific filters to narrow down your choice, making it easier to select things to buy - perfect for finding players whom you may not know of, but would adapt well to your teams chemistry, you can also choose which price range to search, allowing you to stick to a budget should you need to.

After finding the player or consumable item of your choice, you have two buying choices, these are to bid on the player, or meet the seller's buy now price. They will then be added to your transfer targets, where you'll be able to monitor any players you're bidding on.

The transfer list is where you add players to later sell, from here you can set the start price and buy it now price of which you wish to sell your player or item.

Go to the store page once you're on Ultimate Team and you'll be able to buy packs (similar to opening cases on CS:GO), or view packs you've gotten for free.
To buy packs, you'll need either FIFA Points (EA's in-game currency/microtransaction which can only be purchased with actual funds.) or FIFA coins obtained from selling players or items and playing games.

There are three different types of packs available:

Regular Packs
Always available on the store.

Promo Packs
Available only on specific periods of time, like the Happy Hours.

Free Packs
Not available to purchase on the store. They are assigned to you in the beginning of the game, as daily gifts and as tournament and seasons rewards.

Very nice and detailed guide. I wasted 70 on my ultimate team and was dicked on. The best player i got from 70$ was Hulk.. i had to end up making a Brazilian team :(
