what are the essential stages in project management ?

Hi friends, i am a developer & i have been searching for essential stages in project management. Hoping for great support.
Client requirements
Software analysis and requirements
Development
Testing
Publishing
Feedback to improve
"It is a simple logic truth that, short of mass emigration into space, with rockets taking off at the rate of several million per second, uncontrolled birth rates are bound to lead to horribly increased death rates."

- Richard Dawkins (The Selfish Gene)
Before development:

  1. Brainstorming about the project, write down all requirements and features on top of that. (Note: requirements from customers / clients come here too.)
  2. Breakdown of each step that each feature takes
  3. Time estimating, because it's important to put some estimations on each feature, especially if you're going to sell the product as it enables you to sell it at a fair price. When time estimating take development, bug fixing and testing into account.
  4. After the overall planning, take one feature at a time and start the development by following the below

Per feature, when starting to develop them:
  1. In-depth analyzis of the feature, basically a more in-depth brainstorm than the one you started with
  2. Analyze what classes, methods and conditions the feature must implement
  3. Estimate each part of the feature (Perhaps add it to the total time estimation.)
  4. Start developing the feature

Once all features are developed (Or some of them.) follow these steps:
  1. Testing, it's important to test all features and corners. Monkey-testing is efficient, but a test by someone who understands the product (Not the developer.) is a good idea too
  2. Bug fixing

And at last once the product is ready you can either release it or sell it.

After the release or sale, prepare for testing/bug fixing again as no products are bug free per standard.

Of course the steps can also include other things and it really depends upon the product, how the steps above must be performed, but it should be a pretty general project planning and development process.

To manage the above there are things like Microsoft's Projects and Jira that helps with great effort. You can also use them together.

well basically what he said... more or less

A very important part are feedbacks, you have to ask your users how to improve a project and make it more user-friendly, as well as having during development a good environment for debugging
