Yu Yu Hakusho: Ghost Files

Synopsis (Courtesy of MAL):
Spoiler (Click to View)One fateful day, Yuusuke Urameshi, a 14-year-old delinquent with a dim future, gets a miraculous chance to turn it all around when he throws himself in front of a moving car to save a young boy. His ultimate sacrifice is so out of character that the authorities of the spirit realm are not yet prepared to let him pass on. Koenma, heir to the throne of the spirit realm, offers Yuusuke an opportunity to regain his life through completion of a series of tasks. With the guidance of the death god Botan, he is to thwart evil presences on Earth as a Spirit Detective.

Surprised there isn't an official discussion thread for this anime yet. Nevertheless it is a classic among 90s anime. For anyone seeking a longer anime with some comedy, detective work, good action, great character development, and overall a fun series then I recommend this. While the art work isn't the best for its time, the story, characters and overall performance of the anime do it justice. The anime consists of a few arcs so it tries to remain fresh throughout the 110 episodes.

I would recommend watching this series in dub, however I'm sure the sub would also suffice as well. Please discuss the anime to your hearts content below, but I will say this is a good favorite of mine to suggest every now and then, definitely worth the watch ;)

It was a very good series and the Sensui arc was very well coordinated.
Loved seeing a bad guy who could keep his cool and was calm throughout the entire fight.

My childhood anime. I grew up watching this, loved it.
I rewatched it about a year ago just to refresh my memory on it.

Unfortunately discussion threads only seem to be a thing with airing anime. Yu Yu Hakusho is definitely in my top 10 though. Like the above user, I too had re-watched it about a year ago for memory refreshing.

Great anime. I was not to fond of the ending though. Personally I think it could have ended much better but still its one awesome anime. The movies were kind of lack luster I think.

Loved this anime and surprisingly finished it around a month ago. The ending was great except for 1 part
Spoiler (Click to View) I wanted Hiei to tell Yukina he was his sister
But besides that I thought the show was 10/10 worthy
By far one of the better long running series out there. Would recommend over something mainstream and generic like Naruto/OnePiece.

Same here. I remember watching it on Toonami when I was younger.

This is one of the animes that got me loving anime. It's been ages since I've watched Yu Yu Hakasho though. Guess I know what I'm binge watching later. :)
