The best current method of getting XP (Click to View)
At level 9, you receive a lucky egg, these double your XPincome for half an hour. Save this egg.
Transfer all your Pidgeys, Caterpies, Weedles etc, DO NOT EVOLVE THEM.
Once you figure you have a big enough stash of candy for all the pokemon, drop your lucky egg and then evolve them all at once. No ot do 2nd level evolution, only first level that cost 12-25.
1 Pidgeotto = 50 candies = 500XP or 1K with Egg
4 Pidgeys = 48 candies = 2k XP or 4K with Egg
If you save up 50 candy for Pidgey, Caterpie and weedles then you just made 12k XP, and that's assuming that's the only pokemon you could evolve.

To track the Pokemon that nearby, tap the bar in the bottom right:

Then once it's open, you will be greeted with a 3x3 screen, that shows how far away certain pokemon are. 3 paws being the furthest, and 2 paws being the closest.
Start walking in any direction, if the paws decrease, keep going!
Once the target has no paws, look for grass rustling in the area, and head towards it.
Catching the Pokemon
Hold the pokeball by keeping your finger on it, the rung will get smaller and smaller, try hit it when it's at it's smallest. Open the next spoiler to learn how to get the most XP when catching pokemon.
And no, tapping the pokeball as it rolls away does NOT give it to you.
How to get the most XP when catching Pokemon (Click to View)
As the inner circle decreases in size, you will have a better chance of getting extra XP. There are 4 ways currently known to get XP when throwing the balls, if the throw says 'Nice', then you hit the outer ring of the circle.
If it says 'Great', you hit close to the middle, and if it says 'Excellent' then you hit spot on in the middle, as it was tiny.
You also get extra XP for hitting a 'Curveball', which is where you shoot it to the side but it still hits.
Click here to learn how to curveball
The extra XP for these shots is as followed:
Curveball! 10 XP
Nice! 10 XP
Great! 50 XP
Excellent! 100 XP
Which means if you get a curveball + an excellent shot, you just got an extra 110 XP!
Cool shit (Click to View)
1) When evolving an Eevee, if you name it something certain, you will get a guaranteed evoloution.
Sparky = Jolteon
Rainer = Vaporeon
Pyro = Flareon
2) Getting Pikachu as a starter is possible, it's not a myth
3) The Pokemon's weight is tied to how fast it attacks, small fast attacks are better for small fast pokemon, hard slow attacks are good for heavy hitting pokemon.
4) CP means jack shit when it comes to attacking (unless you're the same type)

This is not 100% accurate, but it gives you an idea of what types do more damage to what (it's the same in all other pokemon games for those who already know)
5) You can use HTML code to name your Pokemon!

Will add more shit (got a lot to put in the FAQ) later, but let me know any immediate feedback.
